I grew up at OCIR through the 70s into the 80s with dear old dad. A nitro fanatic we rarely missed a Saturday and into the night for qualifying. Go get us a pepsi with extra ice he would say. We could feel the heat from the fence on the spectator side. Hot Streak and Smoke and Thunder lighting the night sky. Thanks for the memories dad. I miss you dearly. Wish you could see this little nitro session. Flames and all. Oooh baby he would say. So violent soooo bad ass. But dad my eyes burn and I can't breath. Ain't it fun son 😂Then we would run to the car to beat the traffic out of there.

Ya , my dad was a volunteer for James Warren so we got to go to alot of races,,OCIR was definitely my favorite,,thank God for utube we can watch some old classics,,

My neighbor owned Pure Heaven 2 it won 11 straight events at OCIR in the late 60s,still love the fuel alterds

Man , the " Chrysler FirePower " valve covers ruled the land man !!! Never gets old. It's the engine that we should be seeing today actually.
