I purchased a 2023 Rogue in December of 2022 and just took an 1100 mile trip mostly interstate driving. I am not a speed demon and drove mostly at 65 MPH. I calculated the mileage the old fashioned way...the number of miles divided by gallons to fill. The result of the first day's travel was 39.01 MPG and the second day was 39.06. The car was loaded with approximately 750 pounds of people and stuff. Needless to say I was pleased

I've noticed that the vehicle's fuel economy actually peaks at 45mph, so if you have any backroads you can get insane economy. I've also found that you can go fast on the highway if there is traffic, likely because of a bit of drafting effect like geese that fly in formation. I got my highest to date of 43.2mpg in traffic going between 70-75mph but in dense traffic all going that speed so I think it was drafting.

Bought our 2023 Nissan (fully loaded) Nissan Rogue in February 2023. Depending on where you live and your personal driving patterns, fuel mileage is completely subjective. That said - in the amount of time since purchase date, we have driven the entire west coast of the United States. Our average fuel mileage (in ECO MODE) is 41.7 mpg. It is an AMAZING vehicle and we are beyond thrilled with everything about our purchase.

We had an excellent sales agent who met our terms on price. We paid less for it than we did our 2016 (which I just had serviced for 100k miles. Had the original brake pads changed all around and we had the 2-3MM on our pads - at the same dealership, two days ago), which was a bit over $34k in 2016. Our dealer on the new one gave us a FREE bumper -to-bumper lifetime power train warranty - but we tacked on a seven year service plan for just under $38k, out the door. And, our latest fuel record is officially 42.3mpg! I have been completely floored by how Nissan gets MORE power and torque out of a three-banger! I'm driving the 2016 and the wife drives the 2023. That new Rogue LITERALLY drives itself! Comfortable ride... Plenty of room and more bells and whistles than you can shake a stick at! We have -0- regrets. We didn't go for the 0% financing option, but our rate is at 4.99%. We have doubled up on our payments and have it over 20% paid down already. If you live in Oregon, I can give you my dealer's name! He handed me a fist full of cards a couple of days ago. He's driving us crazy for our 2016 because of its condition and it's under 100k - but the answer is a hard no on that! More info than you asked for but we are tickled with this 2023!

Can't say it matters too much to me since I don't pay for the gas, but it's nice for miles on a tank between full ups, so we'll see how it does. I just traded in my 2021 Kicks SR with it's weak 4 cylinder 1.6L engine for a 2023 Rogue S with it's triple cylinder 1.5L turbo. I always drive it to work exactly 45 miles each way. With the Kicks, I always pumped above 11-13 dollar of gas each day (I like to top off). With this new Rogue, I never top off above $11. I supposedly average 30.9 MPG (have a heavy foot) with the Rogue. I supposedly averaged only 23 MPG with the Kicks. Money talks and my wallet gives the Rogue two thumbs up.

One thing you might consider. Did you use the same pump to determine total fuel usage? Gas pumps can shut off at different rates, when you're filling your car up. Sometimes it's the weather that makes gas expand, sometimes it's the calibration of the shut off of the pump.

The pump will always let you put more gas in because in modern cars the tanks have essentially overflow spaces. But if you fill those up consistantly it will eventually damage the emissions control equipment in there and you'll end up having to replace sensors and other items, so its best to just let it click and be done with it. I agree this is a variable that could change from fill up to fill up, but I do what I can to control it in the best way I think is possible.

Just got a rogue 2023 base model. Haven't been able to achieve better then 30mpg except once or twice. I would agree that the vehicle can hit the rated MPG of 37 MPG, but the stars have to align for that to happen. The MPG rating is extremely ideal and is not achieved under 99% of driving conditions. I used to drive a 2011 Nissan Xterra which was rated for 21mpg hgwy/16mpg city, and I always got 20mpg on the highway as the actual milage; which is only a small deviation from the rating. The rogue for some reason, barely meets 30mpg never mind getting close to the 37mpg rating. If it's true, that the vehicle is tested at 55mph then I can imagine wind resistance may be playing a big role in decreased fuel efficiency because vehicles regularly drive 70mph+ these days and the rating standards are likely outdated. The rogue is also a very big and boxy vehicle to receive such a high fuel efficiency rating, my thought is that past a certain speed it becomes very difficult to maintain or build speed. My final thought is that Nissan engineered the vehicle so that it performed extremely well within the parameters it was tested for, almost as if it were designed for the fuel economy test and not the real road conditions. If you don't know, motors have an optimal RPM range where they can run very fuel efficiently, it may be that at testing standards (55mph) the rogue is operating in this range. But once outside of this range the fuel economy plummets. Anyone else agree???

I think you should fill up full tank and drive til the fuel light come one with none stop. when you stop or park with engine on it's still cost you gas. you can pull more mpg with premium fuel than the regular fuel. Overall you can't get accurate MPG because most of the fuel brand is different, if you get the gas from the SHELL you get more MPG than RaceTrac and QT

@@CarDietrich no what I'm saying is the pump issue where if you do the same test again you won't get the same gas mileage and also the fuel blend usually reduce fuel economy by 10% for the winter blend by itself. Yes I drove nissan but this isn't about that. Its about driving that short of a range and checking the mpg. Did the tank even come off full for the mpg test. You don't show the method you use for filling up and also what other vehicles have you drive on the everyday test and what's the mpg not just the hwy. I see you included a week of driving for this rogue but couldn't really find it for any of the ither cars youbtested though I didn't watch everyone of your videos. If it got 33 with winter blend compared to 37 the percentage isn't far off honestly and you're going overboard for no reason. Like insaid before my coworker does mixed driving but alot of backroads and highway but she drives a little heavy and her readout is still 37. Even if it's 33 in the real world pump that's till higher than her epa since she has the 19 inch wheels and awd it's rated for 34 on the hwy. In reality she is getting what's she's supposed to get and is much better than her chevy small suv with a 4cyl that was at 27 on the readout.

That said what gas are they testing these cars with to get that mpg? Do not forget using ethonal gas reduces mileage by a good percentage. Moral to the story is ignorvthe damn Epa and their BS. Stop putting ethonal in the gas and let the car manufacturers alone to get the best performance from the vehicles they are trying to sell.

When testing for highway fuel economy, you should not exceed 60 mph, and the terrain must be flat with no hills. Above 60 mph rate of wind resistance will increase substantially. Best economy would be in the range of 45 to 55 mph. Manufacture tests are normally performed on a testing track.

You can't accurately gauge how much fuel you put in with just 110 miles, because each pump cuts off differently. You'd need to drive this a number of tanks and log everything. Only then can you make a judgment. Also, even if your unreliable test was accurate, 33 mpg is really not bad at all for an SUV of this size! And then lastly, I think the ones being negative about the 3cyl vc turbo Rogue are either people that are dring something else, or ones that have the older 4cyl engine and they want to feel good what they have or want by putting down the 3cyl. That's called confirmation bias.
