Unfortunately there are levels in Mario Maker 1 that are impossible to beat and so will never be cleared. There were glitches that were possible on the early patches of the game that were patched out globally so they are now impossible to beat. The community doesn't know how many impossible levels there are.

It was a sad day when Nintendo announced that Unlockies was on a hard timer 😔 I'll miss this series

I lost the 8 kilograms I had too much as a teen in a week because my teeth ached, got a belt and seven years later I'm still wearing the same ragged cloth.

Simple has mentioned it too many times for the 100 mid air level not to be the conclusion of the toad arc.

ngl i’ve never liked the uploads that are just stream clips, partially because of the editing. they do this weird thing where they’ll cut out the half-second pauses inbetween sentences and im sure most people couldn’t care less or even notice, but it just gets on my nerves so bad and i can’t help it and also partially just bc i don’t like stream clips repurposed into videos in general because they always feel disconnected from watching the full streams. if i want to watch a stream i’ll wait for the archive upload (which i usually do)

I literally replayed the moment at 19:40 like 10 times at 0.5 speed to see if that was an insane edit by Matt and Nolan. I was so convinced that my jaw hit the floor when it cut to Simple in level edit mode with the track of Mario sliding down the wall.

I remember my first time playing Mario Maker it was really amazing I loved it even the amiibo costumes as well.

Uncleared (and unlockies too ig) finally has a set goal: clear every uncleared level before they close

I agree with MM2 being abandoned too quickly, it was an incomplete game at launch even. With the new theme lacking night variants in turn making 3D super bland while having things like Stone Blocks that could make getting the item to the end of a level that won't break things or be broke like Springs, Pows, and P-Switches. It felt more like a DLC then a full game.

Hey simple! At 18:00 you asked if these types of videos should be streamed, and in my personal opinion I think unlockies could be a good stream game. I like the addition of the chat in your videos, they add so much to the content. And if you stream it, you could treat it like endless runs or iron bros where chat bets on something. I think for unlockies they could bet for whether you have an even or odd number of lives by the time you finish the run, and if you don’t finish, you would return all the bits. Just trying to help!

There are still millions of people still playing Wii games online. While the Wii U was never as popular as the Wii or Switch, there are still some dedicated fans of the system, and those fans will keep using it long after Nintendo's official support is completely dried up. Plus the Wii U can be modded into a fantastic emulation machine.

I'm probably partial to them due to when I started watching Simpleflips, but I also love hearing song requests when they're present in the original stream. They change the vibes.

Personally I like the non streamed ones more. It just feels more like we are having a conversation. Of course I don’t really care that much as they are both great, it’s just one is a little better than the other.

I personally love the streamed videos. Snippets of you interacting with Chat always give me a giggle. Moments like Schmeven also are too good to miss out on.

I think the un-streamed videos vs streamed are two different genres of video. Both are great in my opinion.

as someone who's been watching since 2017/2018, every time i see simple stand up it's genuinely shocking how much weight he's lost. Great job simple :)

in regards to whether or not you should stream the unlock process - normally I'd always say to make whatever content you're most comfortable with, but i think there's something very special about these videos being recorded offstream, gives it a whole different vibe and makes this probably my favourite series you put out

I actually really enjoy the streamed levels, and I really enjoy the song requests. It has a lively feeling to it that I really like. Sometimes people request bangers and that has led to a shocking number of times I've discovered new music to listen to.

I like the mix of streamed and non-streamed; different energy but both are great to watch.

I personally enjoy the vibe much more of the streamed ones, the chat interactions really make things feel more alive. I'm seeing other comments say they prefer the coziness of non-streamed, I do like cozy videos but maybe that doesn't really do it with SMM for me because I've been burnt out on content for this game for an extremely long time and only really watch it because it's you. And with stream interaction it gives you much more to bounce off of for humor.

Mario Maker videos can be streamed and I won't be sad. Both formats are completely welcome with their own upsides and downsides! Whatever is best for your time is good for me Edit: I say this and then immediately afterwardsat 19:45 I see the greatest "not-streamed-only" bit of all time, where you show yourself staging that death by downloading the course. Honestly I can imagine that bit being really funny if you are laughing to your stream about what it'll look like in the video the whole time

I love both the recorded and stream highlights for very different reasons. I would say go with what you can schedule. A mix of the two is fine if you can make it work!

Really excited to hear you plan on helping with the remaining uncleared levels! The goal is looking more and more achievable everyday. I really think that we can collectively beat every single level!

I do think it feels a bit different for your streamed vs not streamed videos, but I also don't feel like one loses out on something compared to the other. They're just different, and it's cool to have either or both of them. If this series switched to being streamed I wouldn't be upset or anything, and I'd be happy to just see more Simpleflips content. That said, I do love the random tangents where Simple goes to play Wheel of Fortune or Tetris, so I hope those can continue. Also, "I can think of three times on one hand" is a godlike expression. The linguistics term for that is a "malaphor", and I love them so much.

i love the edits that can be made when these vids are prerecorded and like you said, theyre so much more personal in a way. of course, do whichever you prefer, theres a really funny aspect of chat screaming "greed" anytime anything happens

Brimstone Basement feels like a level i'd have watched GrandPoohBear clear while I was laying on a Futon eating microwave Ramen between classes in college.

I like that these are recorded on their own because you have a lot more room for jokes and editing, like the intro or the retirement joke. But I also like them streamed because of song donations as well as betting on whether you end on an even or odd level. To me it's an either or, I'm happy with both :)

i like the song requests because sometimes it ties in to a funny moment so i think you should have them in the youtube video

Honestly, I love both the personal conversational feel of the unstreamed MM videos, but also the more chaotic streamed highlights themselves. Both have their appeal, with the personal videos leaning towards your unique brand of humor and heavier editor presence lending to greater individual jokes, while the streamed highlights feature the chaos inherent to how you interact with your chat and vice versa, and frequently create concepts like odd/even/schmeven. Both easily speak to your strengths as an entertainer, but dropping one for the other for such a fair reason as time for a while should totally be acceptable.

I'd love seeing a mix of both streamed and un-streamed, they both have different but really good energies

Someone is definitely gonna set up a custom server and archive all the levels to it, then release a patch for the game to use that server instead. There's like a 0% chance that this *WON'T* happen. That's just how dedicated Nintendo fans are.

There’s a project called Pretendo that aims to be an open-source replacement for the Nintendo network - sort of like private servers. Even after Nintendo shuts down SMM, it might still be possible to play and even upload new levels.

big fan of these types of videos, I would say I watch basically every video you make that is like this directly to youtube, and maybe half the stream clip content at most. The vibe is just completely different and I can't really put my finger on why, just like really cozy thing to watch while eating or before bed.

My uncle works at Nintendo, and he said Mario Maker 3 is gonna be called Super Mario Maker 3D and itll be all the 3D games, but you can't make any levels. It's just enulated ports of Allstars, Galaxy 2, Sunshine, and 64 DS.
