Nikky-Guninder Kaur Singh on "Janamsakhi: Paintings of Guru Nanak in Early Sikh Art,"

Nikky-Guninder Kaur Singh is the Crawford Professor and chair of Religious Studies at Colby College. She has published numerous books and more than 100 articles and book chapters focusing on sacred poetry and feminist issues.
Her most recent publication, "Janamsakhi: Paintings of Guru Nanak in Early Sikh Art," is a significant contribution to understanding these paintings - which not only illustrate key events in Guru Nanak's life but also underscore the progressive nature of his ideas.
Jagbir Jhutti-Johal is Professor of Sikh Studies in the Department of Theology and Religion, University of Birmingham. She has over 25 years’ experience in teaching and research on the Sikh community. She is involved in interfaith and voluntary work within the community, especially around women and children’s issues.
Jagbir is the Sikh female contributor to the Thought for the Day segment on BBC Radio 4's Today programme.
