Baisakhi Special | Janamsakhi | Nikky-Guninder Kaur Singh in conversation with Harleen Singh

On the auspicious day of Baisakhi, Nikky-Guninder Kaur Singh discusses her book "Janamsakhi: The Paintings of Guru Nanak in Early Sikh Art" with Harleen Singh, the founder of The Lost Heer Project.
Janamsakhis are stories about the life of Guru Nanak (1469-1539). They have been circulating orally, in writing, and in paintings and illustrations. B40 is one such documented artistic expression held at the British Library in London. Its fifty-seven beautiful iconotexts narrate the life of the first Sikh Guru from his first day at school to his final moments.
Dr. Singh says, "B40 story is 'Khushi karni ji, rasna halaouni ji, Waheguru!' The community created it, collected it for the 'joy', 'khushi', and I think that 'khushi' needs to be spread across the globe."
