He didn't decide he wanted to go somewhere else. He just wants more money. No 3rd line d is worth 5 mil. No he's not a great player. He had like 20 points. Really good playoffs but still not worth 5 mil. Again that is already over paying.

5mil/season for a guy for is a third pairing guy? Run don't walk away. If he turns that down, only to get a few 100k more as a free agent, the Canucks did well to let him walk.

Yeah he wants the 💰 and we’re not willing to overpay. No need to talk down on the guy though, just cut ties, I respect him for his time here. Someone will pay him just not us

Yep - what I told Canuck fans all through the 2nd round - Zadarov was going to over price himself, and good for Allvin for not overpaying him. That is how you run a hockey team and I hope our new GM has the same intestinal fortitude

Now you understand why calgary traded him away. Lindolme is no different. They both want far more than they're worth

Allvin also jumped the gun signing Pettersson. He should have waited until the off-season as planned as he could have saved a few million due to his outstanding playoff performance. Anything over 5 for Z is overpaying, but look at what Meyers was making. I cant say that I blame him.

Agreed. Projected contract is 3 years $6.2M AAV would be a good signing. Wouldn't go over $6.5M AAV though.

Idk if this matters at all, but during the All Star game this year, our boys picked Stammer with our very first pick. So it’s clear they like the guys and respect him and his skills.

I think Toffoli and Dillon would be a good choice with still some cap money left over

UGH - they ALL say that! What you expect a player going into UFA but still under contract to say he doesn't? ANd it's what I warned all you knucklehead fans about - Zadorov was playing way over his head in the playoffs - he's not that good. If you'd paid him, his contract would've made Darnell Nurse's contract seem like a bargain. Good on Allvin and you should thank your lucky stars he (Zad) turned down that 5m deal as that is also way too much money for this a$$ clown

Zadorov said he and his family loved Vancouver. Yah right. Proof is in the pudding. Zadorov like most players only cares about the money. Good on Alvin for sticking to his guns

When you all watch Zadorov's overall body of work going forward I believe we will see that this was a great decision. His size and game alone warrants money for sure but he aint a $5mil+ Dman and y'all gonna see it

Heinen maybe would have been a decent replacement for DK but he's back. Unless they have to trade Hoglander I don't see the need. I'm 99% sure Dillion signs here.

Zadorov isn't worth 4 mill now 5 mill and up is just insane!! He is worth no more then 3.5mill a season, this has John klingberg written all over it

Honestly, I watched BIG Z since he was picked up by the Flames. Towards the end that he demanded a trade during a live game in Toronto, hoping that Treliving would offer a trade for him. His teammates gave up on him months before, and Calgary Flames had some really good D-man at the time. Sorry, he has no class and isn't professional. Especially turning down 5-6 million from a playoff team like Vancouver. When he was traded to Calgary from Detroit, a lot of his teammates were happy when he was leaving town. Your team needs to beat Edmonton in the playoffs next year. Am cheering for both Vancouver or Winnipeg to bring the cup back home next year. As a Calgary Flames fan, go Flames go!

As an Oiler fan, I can attest to the long-term perils of overpaying a D-man.

Z is a beauty. The best coach in the world thought so. I would have been happy with Z for 6. He brings intangibles like personality and brute force along with timely offence. I thought he won the Nashville series when he leveled josi. A traditional game breaker. Watch Nashville pay him lol.

Good RHD have been paid in the 5m area for a decade now and cap has gone up a ton. If Zadorov can do what he does 22 minutes per night in the top 4 he should command 5.5-6m.

No way i believe he was offered 5 million, he just ain't worth that. Maybe on a one year deal before the OEL penalty really kicks in but not a chance on a long term deal. Sounds like some sucker is going to over pay him or he will circle back around on July 3rdish and take the 4x4 real contract. Who knows the silly season is July 1 and after that reality sets in. Lots of bad contracts signed on that day and the good ones come after that date and get better going into training camp. He will be back.

Big Z take the late offer....we want you here and your a good fit for a cup contending team.....that's worth more than what you'll end up somewhere else ! Your Agent is just worried about what he gets out of it....use your head Take our money !

I actually don’t think the Myers contract overpay tbh. I think what he got is VERY fair compared to why he got in his LAST contract and then he earned what he got from his playoff performance.

What was all this nonsense Big Z blathered on about wanting to "stay in Vancouver?! That they're close to a deal 2 weeks ago, but just a few 100k off, and then he gets this offer and nopes out of it? I hope gets overpaid by some shitty team that won't make the playoffs and he never gets another run like 2024 again. Seems lies and greed are going to be Big Z's epitaph in his run in Vancouver and now it ends.
