Toffoli was a scoring machine at times but not so strong defensively. Tatar was a +41 in his 2nd season with NJ and a 20 goal scorer. Plus he's a lefty and he fit in in on all the top lines well. Not too many seasons left for either of them at this point but yeah it's a good contract and I hope he does well back on the Devils.

You know who is a top 6 forward? Sharangovich. The worst GM in the league Fitzgerald traded him for a few months rental of Toffoli. Was then forced to ditch Toffoli for scrap a at the deadline. I'm not STFU. Fitz is a garbage GM.

Tatar will play great for the devils. 1 year and less than 2 is fine. Not a mind blowing signing but he is comfortable and just fine.
Definitely lacked GOOD veteran leadership last season
He wanted too much money last year, glad he back for a reasonable deal!

@@davidvaho it could be that, I believe he got 3mil in Colorado last year and I think he wanted at least that from the Devs. I can’t remember if the Devs offered him any contract at all

What an L take You must not have watched hockey 2 years ago The chemistry he had with Mercer and Nico was insane That entire line was like a +40 Stop hating and appreciate how fitz has rebuilt the team

More small game hunting by a bad GM. Tatar was horrendous on a 1.5 million dollar contract last season. Fitz gives him a raise to come back. After failing to deliver the top 6 forward that we need. Pumped? Not a chance. This offseason continues to be a disappointing failure.
