    There's no such thing as supply chain issues when it comes to Nike. They can make a trillion of these if they wanted to. They have the facilities to do it. Look at how abundant the Air Force 1s are. The reason it's rare has nothing to do with supply chain, but rather to give their products a more exclusive feel.

    @@16soccerball if you think they need to "halt production on other models" as if their factories are working 24/7 all the time producing shoes, then you're delusional. Nike can make as many of these shoes as they wanted to. the only thing stopping them is to make them more exclusive, which builds up the brand. helping people with accessibility issues is NOT their main priority AT ALL

    Thanks for mentioning this issue cause it needs to be known. I got my hand severely injured 2 years ago so it's difficult to tie my shoes. It's embarrassing and sucks to ask people to help tie your shoes especially if your a grown adult. I was waiting for these to come out and yeah basically can't get a pair unless I pay $450+ that's messed up. Nike supposedly was gonna release more April 30th, never happened. So it's a problem with Nike and these resellers both need to get their act together.

    Every single press release NIKE did for this shoe was about it being a GR release, it was never ment for only disabled people. There are other Flyease shoes which are actually even easier for disabled people to put on. This shoe came about because the Croc trend is picking up and Nike wants to cash in on that.

    On what basis could you sue? You can't force a shoe company to make a certain type of shoe for you. Nike doesn't even end up making any extra money on these limited runs and their markups, as it is these resellers that are gouging customers (and only then because they have willing participants who will pay these asking prices). This is why I think Nike should put more out; they are leaving money on the table for scalpers to take.

  • @DeadAir21

    @DeadAir21

    @@paulwright6044 it’s not always that simple. People have always complained that they couldn’t get the sneakers they wanted. Then in 2018 Nike mass produced most of their retros and most of them sat on shelves for months and people complained that they didn’t feel special because everyone had them. There’s no amount of pairs Nike can produce to meet demand because it would just bring more bots and resellers into the market.

    Nike could not have foreseen the unscrupulous resellers would make it hard for the target demographic to get these shoes. Since this new design is getting publicity and being talked about I guarantee you that Nike will make more & figure out how to make them available to the people that will benefit from them most. I work in the fashion industry (which includes shoes, handbags, hats etc.) and new designs are often made in much smaller runs. Reasons for this: • Some stores may not be interested in a new product because they don’t want to order something that won’t sell or something they don’t think fits their target customer. • Stores have limited shelf space and can only market so many items at a time. Adding something new often needs means removing something else. • The first time you manufacture a new product it’s always a bit of a test. You will most likely make some changes in later production runs. You don’t want to make a lot something that is still for all intents not finalized and may be slightly inferior to later versions.

    Nike released them to random Nike members. Allowed those picked to get 1 of each 3 colors.

    as someone who buy shoes to resell, the fact that people bought these to resell is actually sad. but Nike knew these shoes were going to sell out they were hyped ever since that gif came out. they should've had more "basic" colors ready to go and have made it something you could find on shelves at a shoe store.

    It's either more stock, or make the shoe less attractive. It's sad to to even say that, but with the sneaker resell community, people judge a shoe and its resell value by the looks, even if it's a shoe model that's famous for high resell prices, a release of an attractive colourway in that shoe wouldn't resell higher than the retail price.

    Nike should keep a stock that’s prescription only. So people with disabilities can easily access them. Sell them like usual in Stores and online buy hold some back that require a doctors note or something. It’s like someone buying up all the heart medication and reselling it at a premium

    The price goes up because of demand, the only solution is to drive down demand by creating more supply. Besides, disabled people can be scalpers too, you don't think they'd buy a couple of pairs as soon as it's available?

    100% agree. If Nike really cared they’d release thousands of pairs and not care about the supply and demand dropping prices for their profit margins.

    I bought a pair of these, but the Jordan 1’s. When I realized they were meant for disabled people I sent them back, but more because it seemed like bad luck to keep them.
