The INSANE Story of Crocs by MagnatesMedia: When the Crocs co-founder first saw a prototype of the shoes back in 2002, the only words out of his mouth were “Those are ugly.” Somehow though, those ugly shoes created a multi-billion dollar publicly traded company, and have been worn by celebrities and even on the runways of Paris Fashion Week. So, how were three founders with zero experience in footwear able to build such a wildly successful shoe company? This is the surprising untold truth of Crocs. In 2002. Lyndon Hanson had hit a low point: he was sleeping on a friend’s couch, after separating from his wife. Around that same time he also lost his job in computer hardware marketing and his mother passed away from cancer. His troubles seemed endless. George Boedecker and Scott Seamans were long-time friends of Lyndon and could see he desperately needed some cheering up, so they setup a sailing trip together around the Caribbean to try and clear Lyndon’s head. Now, Scott was a quietly successful inventor, and had made a good living developing and patenting products, and at the time of this trip was already semi-retired at forty-eight. However while they were on this sailing trip together, Scott asked Lyndon and George to try on a pair of rubber-like clogs he’d been developing after discovering something similar on a business trip to Canada. Who could have guessed in that moment Crocs would become a billion dollar business empire (in 2006 Crocs had its IPO, and they raised $239 million dollars which placed it as the highest initial public offering for footwear, ever. This put its market value at a little over a billion dollars). Crocs did face a slump in the stock market for a while, but has now bounced back and had their highest revenue year ever - so let's look at the business success of Crocs, how they make so much money, why Crocs do such weird collaborations and lots more in this history of Crocs!

Hey legends, hope you enjoy this one. And since it’s a pretty short video, if you’re looking for something to watch afterwards, please feel free to check out my video on Lamborghini: kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZGpr0MSCp7a4XZM.html - it never really took off as much as some of my other content, but I think it’s such a cool story of revenge. And if you’re looking to make some quick money online, check out Swagbucks. I think I first registered for Swagbucks back when I was a teenager. 😅 My favourite part is that if you just shop with the retailers you were already going to shop with, but simply click on their website via swagbucks, you get a % of your order amount back. It really is that simple. And who doesn’t love free cashback? swagbucks.7eer.net/c/3691899/19503/799 😉 See you for another new video next week! - John

He came off as extremely down to earth, after I told him I do freelance marketing he had a million questions and seemed genuinely interested in what I do. My first thought about crocs was indeed that it was ugly. And then after hearing a lot of enthusiasm from my cousins, I ended up getting one. True enough, the things that become popular and sell out, are the ones that are well marketed. You can even make a stupid cheap item look expensive and people will buy it. Life is what we make it.

I see people wearing crocs all the time when I was younger I thought crocs were just the name of the product like shoes or food idk 😂 but anyways eventually I learned that crocs is a huge company not something that a bunch of company made. But yeah I went to the hospital yesterday and saw loads of workers wearing crocs. Went to the boat thing on the pier and saw loads of people wearing crocs. Then I saw this video and it's making me itch for a pair of crocks. And a couple of cute decorations on them. Sorry for the long rant but thanks for reading have a nice day!

The Italian shoes design mentioned in the video would be closed toe "zoccoli". These are normally used in hospitals and kitchens for sanitary reasons and are ugly, white and perforated. So weird. I bought a pair of Crocs before heading off with my band in 2010 to Mozambique to play a really cool festival on the beech called STRAB (Subterranean Rhythm and Blues). I tried them on in the shop, didn't think they were all that comfortable, but they did fit - the salesperson agreed - so I figured I just needed to give myself a bit of time with them. I've never really been a sandals kind of guy. But I was heading down to the whitest, cleanest, most remote beech-side resort I'd ever been to in my life at the perfect time of year weather-wise for five whole days, and I was only actually performing on the fourth of them. I was preparing for the paid holiday of a lifetime and wasn't ready to miss any opportunities that might come about to compound my enjoyment of it. I paid for the Crocs, took them home and packed them and there in my bag they stayed until we arrived at Ponta Malongane Dive Camp and Resort. The following day, myself and my band mate Al hit the road and drove the seven hours along the freeway, including a stretch of it replete with moon crater-sized potholes scattered about making the tarmac look like dark grey Swiss cheese, all the way to the southern-most border of Mozambique where we I parked my little blue Peugeot and caught a ride in a four-wheel drive truck over the duney beech sand roads until we arrived at the resort and because we were early, I chose a spot to pitch my tent no more that a hundred meters from the shoreline in a small clearing of soft greenery about three minute's walk from the main stage we'd be playing on that coming Saturday night at 20:00. Once the tent was pitched, I wasted no time putting on my swimming trunks and brand-new Crocs and hurried out of my tent toward the beech. I wasn't fifteen paces from the tent when common sense kicked in and I thought to myself, "No way am I gonna be able to stand these shoes for another second." My goodness, I have never had feet so uncomfortable in my life. I left the Crocs next to my tent in plain view of any and every person attending the festival. Now, I'm not used to my property hanging around unsupervised on account of the part of the world in which I live. I didn't see any need to create a sign saying "Free Crocs to Weird and Needy Feet." I simply expected them to disappear at some point during the next few hours while myself and my band mates splashed happily about in the warm, tranquil, early winter and therefore sharkless (more or less) ocean. For the next five days I had no need for shoes of any kind at all. The biggest threat to my podiatric well-being was the occasional seashell or poorly extinguished cigarette butt. The though of wearing shoes didn't cross my mind for the rest of the festival. I didn't bother to check on the Crocs. I was sure they'd have been permanently borrowed by the end of day one. Low and behold, day five, once I'd deflated my mattress and shaken off the sadness the thought of returning to Johannesburg came with, I climbed out of my tent and there was a local nearby evidently collecting alms from festival-goers. I told him he could have my tent and everything in it. He was of course very grateful. He toook the tent down with a deft skill that beggared belief and packed away the inflatable mattress along with the sleeping bag. I looked at the ground and the Crocs were still there! I told him please to take them too - that I didn't mind at all. He politely refused. Now that I've related my Crocs story, I'm sure it's completely understandable that the video I just watched spun me right 'round, baby, right 'round.

i loved reading this did you ever wear a pair of crocs ever again? ive always hated them and thought they were uncomfortable and hideous and i love flip flops
It's because of its water resistant property. At the same time higher heels & fairly good comfort makes the crocs very captivating. It's bulky appearance makes it unique. These are the factors that made it World famous.
Light, comfortable, easy to clean, Lil to no maintenance required and extremely durable. Unless you purposely burn or cut it, it's almost indestructible. Best footwear while gardening and rainy season. Unless you don't like it's design, it ticks all the necessary features a casual footwear can offer.

don't know about design but this was the most comfortable shoes I ever use
The thing I really like about Crocs even though they're pretty ugly is, that they're extremely comfy, they don't squeeze your toes together like most shoes do. People have crooked feet because of the squeezing shoes, and not only foot but other pain too due to wearing too small shoes. And many shoes, even though they're your size, squeeze hella lot and start to hurt after wearing for some time. There should be more nicelooking shoes that don't ruin your feet.
Intriguing story. So well presented. From someone who has always felt a visceral repugnance for these things!
