One of my son's was a heart & kidney donor a few years ago; and another son received a liver donation from someone 2 years ago. So nice to know you are a donor. It's a gift like no other as we have been on both sides of it as parents.

Oh wow! I am sorry for your loss. I think it is amazing how we can continue to help people even after we are gone. How is your sone doing that received a liver? I know those typically take a bit longer when recovering and such.

I love these colors you chose. One of my best friends donated her kidney to her then husband 5 years ago. It truly is a selfless loving act of kindness. Congrats on yours and your friends donorversary.

Bless you for donating a kidney. My sister was a recipient of a liver transplant but unfortunately those are not living donors. You're kind and brave. I love the green technique and yellow is also one of my colors so I'll probably watch this a couple times to recreate this look.

Chrysdawna my heart goes out to you and your friend. My Mum just passed in October after a year on renal dialysis and a month in palliative care. She was fortunate in that her kidney disease wasn’t severe until she was in her senior years. 🙏🏻 As for this blending tutorial, it was the most descriptive I’ve ever seen and I’ve watched loads. I think I’ll get blending if I just follow the steps. ❤️❤️❤️

Ok. This would not be my style but you have me blown away with technique! W.O.W. Sea Spray base in pine one. Blending those varied greens, burlap wash on top, and then the yellow wax! MIND BLOWN!! Amazing! And even better, topped only by the cause! Organ donation, live kidney donation, donate life!! Amazing job!

Renal Cell Carcinoma survivor here. I too only have 1 kidney. I completely love you're idea of creating the annual green piece. You inspire me to be creative and I will be refinishing a Japanese dining table that was brought from Japan after the war. It's a family heirloom, perhaps with no value other than sentimental, but hopefully generations to come will also care for it as we have.

SOOOOOOOOO, I thought know wayyyyyyyyy are these colors going to work, but THEN, my goodness, did they ever! Even though the colors started out bold, this piece actually is so calming to look at (if that makes sense). You are a master blender and fun to watch.

LOL you know what...if I had a dollar for every time I made people nervous at first lol...Thank you so much, I think the yellow helped tone it down but brought it all together also.

I watched this last week, but wasn't doing much commenting then. So I watched this week's and had to come back and re-watch this. I love both versions, but I think I'm in love with how saltwash works with paint. I especially love when the peaks created with the saltwash are hit with the sander - magic happens!

A wonderful gift of life for your friend💕. I watched the pink nightstand transformation first and saw I had missed this one. I love old distressed finishes so much so my booth is Distressed Donna. You have a wonderful eye for color and your chippiness replicates old primitive pieces. Beautiful.

My best friend had a kidney transplant 2 years ago. I wouldn't have gladly given one of mine (although very minor, I have a cancer history, so can't). But I love you all the more for giving the gift of life!

Thank you so much for bringing more awareness to how important live kidney donation is! I also donated one of my kidneys. I am doing just fine and it seems you are too. There are so many people struggling horribly and waiting to die or get a kidney whatever happens first. Why wait until we are dying to do it? We can do it while we are alive and change someones life. Sorry i got a little carried away. I love your little nightstand! When you first start out i really struggle with the vision but when you are done it simply amazes me with the beauty of it. I love how you are so colorful!

I had just asked the Dixie Belle sight a question about adding more water to achieve the washed look. Thank you for addressing that. Also, I love the idea of coloring your wax. The yellow wax seemed to unify the greens. Thank you for showing these things. Once again you have proved that art and function are compatible.

Way back in the 1960's, they came out with a new "antique" kit. All my furniture suddenly went blond...then Apple green.....then blue. The colors you pick always reminds me of the adventure of discovering our own taste. You pick perfect colors😅.

I will be using some samples cans and jars of different blues and off whites for an old oak set of drawers. I think some of these techniques can be used to get the effect I want of Scandinavian old furniture that will make me feel comfortable. Whatever that is . But I will not be afraid in this covid time to use what I have and mix and make my own paints up. So thank you for giving me courage. It may not be the same as giving a kidney but it is possible to give with courage to yourself.
