They did that to us. They came in promising 300 new jobs. They actually provided about 150 new jobs. Only that was not a net gain of 150 jobs because they put 250 people in the area out of work and forced most of the small retail businesses out of business. Then they discontinued multiple departments which mean there were a number of product lines completely unavailable to people without traveling out of state. For example, our state had 23 fabric stores the day before Walmart came. Walmart's discount fabric department put them all out of business. Then Walmart discontinued selling fabric in the stores in our state making it necessary for people to travel to another state to buy fabric. We had over 30 stores that sold televisions, stereos etc. They all went out of business. Then Walmart reduced their electronics department and so now there is no place to buy a decent stereo. Walmart put all of the sporting goods stores out of business including multiple bait and tackle shops and then the Walmart's in our area stopped selling bait and most tackle and so now there is no place in the state to buy bait and no decent place to buy a fishing rod. Walmart put half the grocery stores out of business. Then they eliminated their custom bakery dept. and their custom cut meats service and so now you can't order a birthday cake or any other custom decorated cake in the area nor can you go anyplace in our state and ask for a specific cut of meat done a specific way. If they don't have it already you are tough out of luck. So it's not just causing unemployment everywhere they go but they cause under employment combined with eliminating businesses that the population relies on.

The same way as they always do. Nothing. I lost a high paying job at a factory 9 years ago because at 55 I was considered too old to be trained on new equipment. So when they got rid of the machines I operated they got rid of me as well. So now I work at McDonald's for $1 over minimum wage as a kitchen manager and I was informed recently that McDonald's will be eliminating a number of positions in the next couple of years due to automation. As a kitchen manager I currently supervise 12 people. But due to automation that number will be reduced to 5. All the old employees will be terminated and they will hire people with a skill set nobody currently employed there as including me. They will only be accepting people under 60 for the job title that will replace mine and that job, while paying a lot more, will require education I neither have nor can afford to acquire. So two years before I am eligible for Social Security, I will be unemployed and considered almost universally as unemployable due to my age. Absolutely nobody hires people over 65 and almost nobody over 60. And in my state, unemployment is limited to 13 weeks and $275 a week. I would qualify for $225 a week for those 13 weeks and then nothing after that until age 67. Or I could take early Social Security at a greatly reduced benefit which will pay for roughly half of my basic survival expenses, rent and food being the only two and probably not even rent since rent is going up at a rate of triple every 7 years in my state. My rent already exceeds 100% of my future anticipated Social Security benefit in 2027 when I start getting full benefits. I have absolutely no idea what I am going to do. My last good job fired me one week before I had worked there long enough to qualify for a pension. 9 years, 11, months and 3 weeks then poof! no pension. That would have been $12,000 a year. Not a lot but combined with SS it would have been sufficient for basic survival. Now I know why we have tens of thousands of elderly homeless people roaming the streets in my county.

Read an online article yesterday about an upcoming GOP debate with new rules. The rules are no one can get on stage without handing in a certain criteria number of supporters. They are upset because Trump already qualified. They also say he is so strong in the lead with his supporters and along with his super loud, nonstop debate style, they are not going to get much time on the stage. Kudos to the GOP finally fighting the battle and taking the tough steps needed to balance their party out. Shame on Trump for overpowering his party and causing constant controversies. There is other more qualified politicians in that party with experience and morals and fresh ideas, but Trump feels the addictive need to always be the only one in the spotlight. Not a teamworking concept needed for any political party.

So that would mean if they turned 76 prior to being sworn in or in some cases depending on when their birthday was, they might be disqualified from running at age 75 or possibly 74. I would go five years older than that for supreme court justice or any member of congress since those jobs are much less taxing than president and I would apply this policy to state elected officials as well. Kind of wish AI was in place last winter in the pickup department, cause I will NEVER shop at Walmart again. Telling me my order is ready, going to pick it up, having to wait 4 HOURS only to find out when I got home I didn’t have almost $50 worth of groceries that I paid for. And when I went to the store to complain they basically said I had to take care of it online. NEVER going back 😡🤬

  • @nunyabiznez6381

Same thing happened when I bought a bicycle there. I bought the bike on line for $250 and went to pick it up and they had me sit there for three hours then finally told me they didn't have my bicycle and had no record of the purchase. I went back home to go on line again to find out about it and the website simply told me to go to the store to pick up my purchase. I called the store this time and they still said they had no record of the purchase and had not had that model of bicycle in the store in over a month. I tried to cancel the order on line only to be told that option was not available. So I went to my bank to do a charge back and then Walmart sent me a letter from their legal department informing me that I needed to pay back the charge back for the bicycle they now claimed I had picked up the day prior to my ordering it. I went to the Walmart in question and after waiting two hours to see their general manager to complain they said it had nothing to do with their store and when I showed them the email demanding I pay for the bike I picked up when I never picked up the manager said it was my problem. So I finally got through to their legal department by phone which took two days just to get their phone number and finally I spoke to them and explained the situation and told them if they did not correct their records I would go to the police and file a complaint that Walmart was extorting money from me and had committed fraud. Another two days went by before they finally admitted that it was a mistake on my part. It seems that someone mixed two serial numbers up at the distribution center and that the bike I paid for originally went to someone in another state. I have not purchased anything on their web site since and will never again.

Climate Change, decent affordable health care, fixing our Immagration problems, and the list goes on! They are clueless on how to solve any real problems, so they continue to drum up these culture wars to divert our attention from the important issues. Unfortunately, these clueless MAGA'S fall for that crap every time! The bottom line is these Politian's, and these troublemakers (Mom's for Liberty) need to keep their noses out of Education and allow the professional educators to do their jobs. Parent's need to stick to parenting! After all, I do not see any parent groups interfering with the Medical or Leagle professional! The P.T.
