shortbread cookies would love this, and perhaps a brioche bun would work as well. One could also ripple some flaked dark chocolate! & a few pecans or walnuts...whipped cream cheese would give it a bit more substance.

this is basically a riff on a fruit fool, but for heaven's sake, use toasted brioche or Belgian waffles! finally, a recipe (besides a fool) that has an adequate amount of properly whipped and not-too-sweetened cream! i am so doing this. perhaps daily. maybe i can put it on lard biscuits or puff pastry shapes. maybe with herbs, spices, booze ...

I thoroughly enjoyed the video. I'm going to try this tonight. Edit: Wow, had no idea whipping cream was so quick. It was the best topping I've had on toast by far. I just used cheap cherry preserves. Now that I know how easy making whipped cream is, I see a lot of it in my near future. This toast was such a good light & sweet end to dinner.

I wanted to add, the little whipped cream I've had in my life has been the canned or in-tub variety, and never on toast. Excited to try this.

@2:49 or you could add a liquour, like Rosolio or maybe a little homemade Limoncello, or Crème de cassis.
