Nigel is an absolute legend! His gym was up the road from my parents pub. Remember watching him train as a kid, he was a f'in beast!

A neighbour of mine growing up once told me Nigel Ben saved his life. But he said Ben was a soldier at the time.

One of the best and most honest interviews I've ever seen from any fighter. What an incredible career he had.

I wouldnt say that, Benn seems like a much more well adjusted person than Tyson is, I think even now you can see in Tyson's eyes that he's a tormented soul whereas I get the feeling Benn has genuinely made peace with himself.

What a totally honest interview? The man has no side to him at all. Full respect to him, a complete warrior ,and a complete human being.

My Favorite Boxer loved to watch him fight, so exciting and patriotic ...amazing guy.

Can still remember the atmosphere coming through the tv in the McClellan fight.Spine tingling.

@John Kelly Ha I'm a Charlton fan- mine was 98 playoffs against Sunderland - super clive mendonca hat trick and then won on Pens...had to watch it at home as I'd broken my collarbone. My neighbours two houses down could hear me screaming lol. I remember banning my mum from the living room because she would curse any important games through her sheer presence! I personally thought Joshua Vs Klitchko was right up there too for atmosphere and importance.

Nice to see him humble and healthy when it could have turned out a lot differently. Same a Mike Tyson in some ways, admits he was a bad person back in the day but left that anger and the old tyson behind and is a much happier man for it.

The more I learn about Nigel Benn, the more I respect the man. Beautiful interview!

One thing you got to love about fighters, particularly once they get "older" especially,...they are the most straightforward, real type of guys there are. Very noticeable.

His fights were bloody exciting. He could be staggering about, on his way down and hed find something from his boots and knock his opponent out. It was great stuff.

Benn, Eubank and Watson were epic. Great listening and hearing what a great man he is too. Certainly, some of my best boxing memories while living in the UK. NZ

my favourite boxer growing up when the big fights were free on ITV Goodtimes

Nigel Benn seems to have mellowed over the years and even become likeable, whereas for years he came over, to me, as a sneering bully. I always liked Eubank because, though he often came over as a nut-job, he was always a character who sent HIMSELF up most of the time. He was also a very brave and skilful fighter.

I'm from hove & used to see Chris around and about regularly. First see Chris fight Dan Sherry in Brighton in 87/88 at the Brighton centre. Great days of boxing.

Great fighter, top, top value for money man. So glad to see him well and with a mission in life once more. We still have the vids though and I watch them all over again from time to time.

Remember him driving past me and my dad in eastham, Nigel Benn is a legend with the heart of a lion loved watching him go to war everytime he stepped into the ring

Never forget the benn McLennan fight, me and my mate were selling the programmes on the door at Wembley arena and I remember our boss said if you sell them all you can stay and watch the fight, so 5 minutes before the fight started we chucked what programs we had left 😂 and walked down near the ringside (wearing our access all area passes round our necks) and watch the fight. Has to be one of the best nights of my life. And we got paid for it!!!!

Only just watched this video and my only thoughts are what a guy. He gave the British public so much excitement during his career and we should be thankful to have had him around

Great respect for Nigel, he was a fantastic fighter who we watched back in the day. Where all getting old it seems, thank God for our memories of our beloved greatest fighters.

It's not just the "drama" of Benn's fights, it's his heart that wins everyone over. We all know we're not invincible, but Benn is so honest.

He looks just as dangerous today... Greate fighter!

Proper warriors, I was at the old Trafford fight, no mobile phones, I was ringing round every place from Yellow Pages and just managed to get a small room for me and a mate (rip Gary). Great times

Enjoyed that thanks very much for putting it on

I sparred with Nigel Ben once. He can really punch and his elusiveness really surprised me. Nigel is right about Michael Watson he was very skillful. I sparred with him around 5 times and after sparring with he taught me about inside fighting, stamina and how much I needed to take road work more serious. Michael Watson would take you to the trenches, in deep waters and drown you. I also sparred with Steve Collings and put him down once. What I learned from Steve Collins was determination. After I put hi down he got up and gave me one hell of a tough sparring session at The Thomas A Becket Old Kent road. He knows how to pressure fight. I used to call him the spoiler. Steve Collings could make the best boxer look untidy. Nigel Benn is a legend.

Best comeback fight I ever watched was Benn V mcclellen. Mcclellen was number 2 in ring magazine fighter of the year at the time behind only the great Roy Jones. Its reported even Jones avoided mcclellen who was an absolutely devastating puncher and good boxer with it which is rare with big punchers. How Benn managed to carry on when mcclellen knocked him through the ropes was beyond me, mcclellens punches were sickeningly hard. It was the best display of sheer will and determination I have ever seen in a boxing ring. The fight was so brutal neither man would be the same again. A genuine true great our nige

The ref wasn’t bent but he couldn’t speak English and it was only his 2nd world title fight. They should have chosen a much more experienced referee.

Brilliant boxer.... Absolutely loved this era of British boxing.... Benn fought with courage, power, skill and heart. Will we see an era like that again???? Sadly not....
