@@heliart6155 Apparently the file sizes according to them. Doesn't help cases that 2.8 also has the 0.2 A Fragmentary Passage demo which was basically put on there to demonstrate KH3's technical improvements No excuses for 1.5/2.5 though

If you want to play a game with a sad, yet amazing story, then I HIGHLY recommend playing this game. It's easily my favorite game of all time. Seeing it not only ported to the Switch, but have some more features really makes me happy. Thank you, Square Enix, PlatinumGames, Nintendo, and Yoko Taro for making this a reality. I'm very thankful that more people can experience this masterpiece.

The official Japanese Twitter account said the game will be 1080p docked and 720p in handheld at 30fps. Let's hope it's the case, players on Switch deserve to play this masterpiece.

One of the very few Games that managed to touch me emotionally (i.e. made me cry). The Music by Okabe-san is god tier and the story is brilliant. Characters have personality and the voice cast just compliments that. Happy to see this come to the Switch too. Especially with new Costumes.

I hope NieR Replicant also gets a port sometime soon because it's just as great a game as this is. Maybe if this does well enough they can pop a port out for Replicant by next year.

Ditto, Switch players should get to enjoy the full Nier experience. I just wish Sqaure would let Taro remaster the Drakengard trilogy since after all Nier is directly connected to one of the first games endings.

@Kiibo Automata is also no Open World Game, it is classical hub based with separated areas and loading zones. I don’t see Automata being significantly more demanding than the remake of the OG Nier. Combat might be a bit faster while the OG Nier has areas with more enemies at the same time. I see them on par regarding possible performance issues.

I would say ‘hope you enjoy it’ but I know you will :) A word of advice - do every single side-quest. There isn’t some kind of special ending if you do them all, but there are some amazing stories in those quests, even the generic ones!

While song of the ancients isnt technically found in this game, the music is still very much on par or better.

This is one of the greatest action games ever, with a fantastic OST and story too

This game saved me from my break up depression and existential crisis.

The game is only some meaningless creation that You have put a made up "value" on.. take the credit and believe a bit more in your self. If you do, the next time you are feeling that depression creeping up again you will be a LOT more prepared on how to handle it. I do speak from experience.

I finished Drakengard 3 (well except the final song, I checked the ending on youtube, but I will return to finish it on my own) And then 30min. later I see THIS?! I know Yoko Taro is a sadist, but through him I learned I'm a masochist. So thank you.

The Switch is such a capable device. It really should have more of these types of games. Heck, port the FF13 trilogy on it.

According to Nintendo Life this port is handled by Virtuos, who are well known for porting Bioshock Collection, L.A. Noire, Dark Souls, Dying Light and The Outer Worlds. Glad Square Enix got an experienced team to handle this port even though Square Enix has worked with Virtuos in the past

Virtuos is the king of ports! Kudos to the developers who’s porting NieR: Automata to the Nintendo Switch!!!

Just some days ago I was talking to a friend about whether there will be a Direct (after XC3's direct) and what to expect for future releases. And I expressed my dream on being able to play this game on Nintendo Switch (never played it actually except for the prologue on my brother's Series S). Cannot believe it. Thank you very much!

My favorite game of all time. I am really happy that my Switch user friends can get a chance to experience this game. I will also be buying and playing this again as well!

For those of you who haven't played it yet, play through it 3 times on the same file to get the full experience. Second is different perspective yeah but it's shorter and then part three is more to the story.

@@mr.leroysmith7012 So once you beat the game for the first time, you load the file and play the game again as the other main character. It is the same story, but offers a different perspective and new information to what is really going on. It is pretty quick as you keep your levels and you gain a new ability making boss fights pretty quick. It is also a good way to deal with challenges that were too difficult on the 1st run like bonus bosses. Once you are finished, you load the game again and it switches back to the first main character, but continues the story to the next part of the game. From there, there are two more endings, but they are right next to each other so you can easily reload your save and see the other one. Once you have completed all of the endings, you can unlock the final ending. It is an odd style, but it worked out alright.

One year later and it still feels unreal.

It's kinda funny that the year given right at the beginning is incorrect only because that's during the 1st Machine War, but the plot of Nier: Automata takes place during the *11th* Machine War, which is like over 6000 years later.

i love this game! played it back in 2020 during isolation and fell in love with it. for anyone looking to pick this up for the first time just remamber to keep playing after the credits roll, you'll thank me later.

This direct was so good for me. The Persona games and Nier Automata were on my checklist for a long time

So excited! was waiting for this!!!

Nier automata was the first game I tried to play in this kind of genre. At first I was not sure if it‘s the right ‘‘thing‘‘ for me because I usually play cozy games like Animal Crossing or something but oh my god… I completely fell in love with this game. I still can remember running around freely the first time after the tutorial. The Music started playing and I teared up because it was so beautiful. Everything was so beautiful. I still get goosebumps when I think about my journey. Nier automata has become one of my all time favorite games so easily and I am beyond happy to play it on the Switch again!

if you really like automata, then please play replicant. it's easily my second favorite game, right behind automata. it's not really the main focus, but the gameplay isn't as good. nothing special, but it IS still fun. weiss, which is like pod, has a bunch of magic abilities that you can use instead of just mindlessly shooting out lasers or wait for it to charge up a powerful one like in automata. side quests suck as they're mostly just fetch quests. the narrative is much better tho so i highly recommend playing it. i can't say much without spoiling it so all i'll say is don't stop playing the game until you've gotten all endings. like automata, you'll prolly think you've beaten the game but there's 5 endings. it took me a while to realize that which is why i'm telling you this. the characters are very well written too and i personally like them more than most of the ones in automata. it's on ps, xbox, and steam. it's a shame how underrated replicant is

The first time I played this game I wasn't expecting so many twists that the story has. This game broke my soul and I wanted to forget everything to experience it all over again as if it were the first time. If you don't play this game, you're missing out on a unique experience!

The public perception of the Switch's power is so strangely polarising. Some people think it's too weak to run Xbox 360 games, others think it's powerful enough to last until 2027. I think the first view comes from people that don't own a Switch, whereas the second view comes from people that only own a Switch.

Trailer made a mistake: the year is not 5012 AD. That's when the alien first came to Earth. The actual year the game takes place in is *11945* AD. That's not a typo: the alien invasion has been ongoing for almost seven thousand years.

This has been on my to-do list for a while. It looks awesome both graphically and gameplay wise. Dunkey actually put this game on my radar. I'm looking forward to this one

This has my attention! Never heard of the game until now…I will buy this on release day 🤘🏼

I have nothing against this game but I'm gonna say this: They can bring this to the Switch natively, but they can't bring Kingdom Hearts to the Switch natively.

My fellow brethren, the specs have been confirmed for Nier Switch version. Please like this comment so everyone can see. 1080p resolution when docked 720p resolution in handheld mode 30 FPS

Square Enix logic. Kingdom Hearts: Too powerful for Switch. Must be Cloud version. Nier:Automata: Yeah, no problem.

Even though Kingdom Hearts ( which isn't my type of game ) looks cartoonish, it's a much more graphic intensive game than Nier.

It probably helps that this runs on Platinum Games in-house tech... The same in-house tech that gave us stuff like Astral Chain and powering Bayo 3. It is more suited to Switch development vs whatever engine was used for Kingdoms of hearts.

This game is published by Square, but made by Platinum, and Platinum and Nintendo are boys, so only thing that doesn't make sense is why we're getting it only now.

Lol good to see people are hilariously still mispronouncing "AUTOMATA"

Just finished on Ps5, it was certainly a trip glad more people will be able to experience it.

This was unexpected but poggers. I wonder if how well this was optimized compared to the laggy lighting on the PC.

For those who are unsure if this game is worth your money; If you ask me this game's characters, music, quests and overall story are so well written, not many games even come close to this game's level of polish in terms of character developement and worldbuilding.
