@@epicchess2021 I worked with him when he was still about 16-17. He was very sharp and a fast talker, and he was already 2400 at the time. We taught chess together, and he wanted me to help him set up a sports betting account for chess tournaments (he was not eligible to do it himself at the time due to his age). I also got him into trading stocks for a bit. He calculates a lot of moves quite quickly and clearly, but it doesn’t seem like his style is complicated. He just sees the right sequences more quickly than most of us.

Niemann's sacrifices, as well as the rook to C2 move, were all played in very short time. Given that there is a 15 min delay on the broadcast and no spectators at the London classic (correct me if I am wrong about this), it seems to me as though Hans found those moves on his own.

Chess is weird and interesting at the moment. Ding is the World champion he hardly plays any games and it would be questionable if he could beat the five best players in the World. Magnus is just having a ball taking the mickey out of everyone by playing crazy chess but getting everyone out of prep and beating them, which is AWESOME. Kramnik is channeling Fischer before he moved to Iceland (pack some warm clothes Vlad) and Hans thinks he is Fischer and has the game to be EXCEPT Fischer didn't mix the brilliance with some of the crazy bad moves that Hans can make, stay disciplined things could be great and look behind you there are a swarm of Indian GM's coming to dominate the World. Finally, Epic chess is on the rise a genuine super chess channel, very exciting times.

@@n1te It's certainly an odd argument to make from george here. As if Niemann is the first new chess player in a hundred years and is causing a stir among the sacred priests of chess or something. There are rising stars every couple of years or so, and yet accusations of cheating are not happening left and right.

@@n1te you fell for that ‘can’t explain his lines’ gag? Hans knew that would get you guys riled up. He’s a CHESS grandmaster, son - you’re still playing checkers. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Except you’re comparing two of the greatest players of all time to a guy that’s been caught cheating more than 100 times. Hans is a joke and a disgrace to a game that used to have integrity

Indeed, Hans Niemann reminds me of Bobby Fischer. Great chess player - horrible temper.

If you use Elo, and trust win% for blitz, and know the win streaks and the player's Elo you can see why Hikaru streaks were "interesting." Didn't Hikaru call Nieman's games 'sus' a year ago and had "proof" that turned out to be bogus anyway? Hikaru milked that BS for a year. Now that we know a 45.5/46 streak and a 55/55 are statistically incredibly unlikely even after 1,000s of games against such players, I see nothing wrong with making the claim of "interesting". Hikaru didn't cheat in my opinion, but oh man to have the platform Hikaru has and pound the stats of these streaks daily...

With all due respect I was not all that impressed with White's attack, and my rating was only 2520 many many years ago. I found/guessed Niemann's key moves in seconds. And.....I am relaxing in bed at 3:50am. Are you sure that he deserves so much praise?

I think giving up a piece without an immediate win in sight is pretty cool but 💯 I am over praising based on his recent comments about himself, Ofc he’s not that high rated and I don’t believe he next Fischer ! You’re up late as well!
