This match was actually incredible. The way they pushed each other into equal, yet incredibly difficult positions was mind blowing. Better yet, they both played with extreme accuracy despite the complexity and time control.

Magnus played two semi obscure openings to get Alireza into confusing time sucking positions. That was very cool. Man he is good.

The hair bit had me rolling... Hilarious

The other players circulate on having good tournaments but Magnus is always there. What a tremendous player. For me he is the most dominating player among all sports, including tennis, snooker ......

it’s a double elimination bracket, since Magnus came from the upper finals, he has two chances. Alireza came from the lower bracket, which means he already lost once before in the bracket. Two losses means elimination in this format, which is why Magnus earned a reset.
