The coaching change may have been merely a psychological move, but it seems to have triggered the emotional response and desire to win, as intended. Skinner played big too. This team has way too much talent to not be in the heat of the playoff race. Respect.

Montreal wasn't really playing that great. Their goalie played amazing and they were turtling and playing defensive the entire game trying to not lose as opposed to playing to win. The deserving team won this game for sure. 2 posts for the oilers as well earlier in the game and almost 50 shots.

If not the penalties (god damn it, Gally...) and their lousy aiming in front of split-second open nets, Habs would've won. Nevertheless, Oilers earned that victory by sheer effort and talent. They and their fans deserve to enjoy that record-setting win streak.

Oilers aer adding another layer of character of what is an important step to becoming a champ. Coming back from adversity , being able to weather adversity at any point is a big attributes to have , heading into playoffs. The last 2 reapeat champions, Pittsburg and Tampa Bay, had a string of heartbreaking losses in the playoffs, before stringing back to back champions. Go Oilers.

Great hockey game! The Canadiens played the hottest team in the league to a standstill! Montembeault was again fabulous! I thought the Oilers were getting frustrated because the Canadiens played so well! As a result, the Oilers, at times, should have been called the "Lumberjacks"! Very happy the Canadiens got a point. It was a very exciting game despite the officiating! my opinion 🦂

Never in dough... Clear win by the Oil... It wasn't. We got a closed game with two fighting teams and great goaltending. At the end both get points and the Oil one more what good is for their mission to the cup.

That was a pretty big blunder by the Montreal defenseman hitting Foegele into the crease on the Oilers first goal. If he just lets him go the Montreal goalie covers up and easily freezes the puck.

Sad that the Habs fans boo the best player in the world when he touches the puck. Jealous and envious they don't have him no doubt. Boo hoo.

Got there tires changed engines filled with oil running on that premium gas and they can’t be stopped there rolling now.

Nice pass by Nick Suzuki to Cole Caufield. He faked the shot and then sent a pass over to Cole who drilled the puck through to the open side. Most of the NHL teams know this, so they keep a defender close to Cole. Edmonton obviously, did not do there homework but the goal doesn't mean much as the Edmonton Oilers beat the Montreal Canadiens 2-1.

Goaltender interference for sure. The Habs won that game. Yes, I'm a Habs fan but fully realize that they won't matter this year. I wish good luck to every other Canadian team this year!

not really, goalie interference is when a player stops a goalie from making a save, foegl catching the blocker wouldnt affect the ability for the montreal goalie to save the puck as he wasnt and wouldnt use his blocker, foegele alse was pushed into the blocker and couldnt do anything but get caught on the stick, good goal, 2-1 EDM in OT

It was a lot harder back then when games ended in ties, the oilers last two wins would have ended in ties nack then and streak would have been over, also the win against LA was a shootout win.

If Guhle gets out of the way of that Bouchard shot Montambeault easily makes that stop. Shot blocking is great, but how about a little common sense too?

Man. The Habs are lucky that the Oil looked so sloppy and off their game. They played like ass and still won. It would have been a slaughter if they bothered to show up properly.

If they had played true to form, this would have been a 4-1. Or worse. The Oilers are so oddly frustrating. Absolutely disgusting levels of talent, and then when literally anything matters, they come out and play low-level AHL hockey.

Oh, yeah. McDavid complains about the refs, so they get an overtime power play. I kind of quit watching the games for the simple reason, it's about who Bettman wants to win.

If they keep this up, this might come back and win the presidents cup
