@@Freshlygrazed I understand defending your teammate, but you also put your team down a man, the Leafs didn't score on the PP, so it didn't hurt them, but it easily could have, they had momentum going their way, a PP goal by the Leafs there would have really shut it down.

absolutely, props to Deslauriers tho. wasn't nessessarily looking for a fight but knew he had to stand up for a team mate, but didnt just jump in and clobber benoit, waited till he accepted the fight, beat him squarely and didn't give benoit any shots to the back of the head after he got him on the ice. thats how its done.

Wait till seasons end & we will know, this NHL fixation with "on pace" takes no account of injury , rest or drop of form! He is playing well but talk like that could turn a high scoring season into a downer cos he didn't reach your target. Sit back & enjoy what he's doing.

He still is not getting respect from teams. Once they decide to shadow him or make life miserable while he is on this ice, this "pace" is going to fade away. You can't deny teams just let him skate anywhere and never apply "pre pressure" on him. While being the greatest goal scorer this season, he is also the worst center when it comes to play making especially in assists, a putrid amount he has, for a center.

Leafs fan here: A couple comments. Props to Simon Benoit and DeLauriers. Benoit engaed with a bigger man in that fight and DesLaurier showed class. Also; I like the Flyers announcers. They are among the best in the league IMO. Very fair in their coverage of the game. Also classy. The Panthers have the worst announcers. Those guys suck.

Why is Sportsnet's youtube channel showing the other team's broadcast highlights, especially when the game is in Toronto?

I am watching only the Highlights without knowing the result. Only by overtime you are adding the chapters in the Video. This is spoiling most of the fun for me. Is this really necessary? Thanks

This Leaf defense is literally a sieve! What a curse it is to have to play goalie on this team! I swear, if Bertuzzi got a breakaway on a team that pulled their goalie, he'd miss the net! Ridiculous call on Benoit. I didn't know hard checks were a misconduct? How does Holmberg stand in front of his net without looking for the OPEN Philly player right behind him, that tied this game? That is fundamental hockey boys! Samsonov deserved this win.

@@Jimmyfly215 Outside of the big 4, it's a crap shoot, but that top 4, is what won this game. Matthews and Marner both with 3 points, Willy with 2, and the big 4 never even let the Flyers touch the puck in the OT. The Leafs Achilles Heel has always been defense, having to score 4-5+ every night to win, isn't a recipe for Playoff success.

@@Jimmyfly215 since they seem like they might barely scrape their way into the playoffs, I'll agree it'll be a tough first round. They showed last year they can win a series, barely, their depth isn't too bad on the offensive end, it's as always, defense that kills the leafs. The fact that the leafs are doing as well as they are without Morgan Rielly is actually a huge cause for concern as he's supposed to be our defensive leader.

He is a proven scorer. But Marner has put him on top of the league. That is easy to see.

Uncharacteristic turnover by Domi, then a missed bouncing puck retrieval after the breakaway and a slow reaction back check effort…all leading to Phillies first goal after his 3rd consecutive mistake 😮 Had some nice passes and setups for Bertuzzi last game though who couldn’t score and capitalize

As usual, no defense by the leafs i mean 0 defence. Goalie save the game multiple times, it should been 5- 3 at 3rd period. Horrible game by the leafs, only Mathew did the job and goalie.

@@hockey_highlights_and_more Check how many times Marner was on the ice when Matthews scored. It is a huge percentage. Matthews is great, but Marner is equally great and probably is more valuable. When Matthews is out of the lineup, the team has a really good win record. But when Marner is out, they have a bad losing record. Bottom line is they need both players badly.
