Yes, the sort of effort that typically shows up for single periods. I assume the Reilly incident has given the team a sense of togetherness. And Matthews and McCann pouring in goals.

Nice to see the Leafs finding their groove. Matthews looks unstoppable rn.

Good night for the Leafs, Matthews gets his 49th, 4th line was solid, defense played well, and we got 2 points. Maybe the Morgan Reilly punishment made the whole team step up a little.

Precisely. Trade deadline is approaching; I hope they're smart enough to pick up at least two good D-men. But more than that, I hope they're smart enough to think DEFENSE FIRST, instead of offense at all cost, for the playoffs.

The highlight team probably starts work in the evening. This was a stupidly early game.

St. Louis have Vancouver's number; the Canucks can't seem to figure out this Blues team. Meanwhile, the Leafs have beaten them twice in a matter of days.

Domi and Bertuzzi get shots on the net, but they dont try to pick spots, they just throw it at the net. Thats why they dont score.

Sammy looked solid…keepers have so much pressure on them glad the leafs are establishing a better defensive game…very necessary

Personally, I like Bert on the first PP over Tavares.

Wristing it over the net seems harder than scoring. I'll give him credit for the stick lift that led to Matthews go-ahead goal.

Leafs are starting to play a much better complete game, especially on defence.

Simpson is a perfect compliment to EVERY play by play announcer. Nobody better in the history of the league than Craig Simpson or Harry Neale.
