C’mon Sean McDonagh… when you prioritize your beginning of the game notes over a SICK goal to start the game you know you’re a less than stellar play by play guy. He didn’t get hyped at all and almost kept talking about his pre-game notes with Ray.

If the Canes kill one penalty, and score 1 of their 5 power play chances this game goes the other way. I seriously doubt Carolina's special teams will be as bad in the 2nd game. In which case, they will definitely win

Two amazing hockey teams wow. I am most impressed with mika for being a huge hockey super stars for so many years and he looks like that he has new energy. Mika has been playing the heroes in the playoffs for over a decade just amazing.

Panarin has mastered that shot. It goes near the blocker but it is precise enough NOT to be into the blocker. But just to the side of it, inside. This is very difficult to do. Kudos.

The Rangers passing is excellent, has been all year, will be tricky for Carolina to handle. The Hurricanes’ net presence will be what the Rangers need to manage. That late goal, there’s 3 Hurricanes surrounding Shesterkin, all the other Rangers are on the outside looking in. They can’t let that happen. The Hurricanes need to be quicker blocking passing lanes, but it’s nearly impossible when the Rangers string two behind the back, no look passes together in a row, perfectly to an open guy.

Zibanejad had as many points or more in this game alone as almost every single Leafs player did the entire series. Zoowee mama that guy's money.

Wow, this series has somehow started with even more intensity than people predicted. What a game. Carolina bad penalties and Rangers elite PP and team defense the difference. But Canes are scary when they press. Probably gonna go 7, should be fun

I'm all for that but that's not going to happen unfortunately! Because now that we've gotten past the 1st Round, the local teams broadcasters aren't allowed to broadcast anymore. So we're ALL stuck listening to these ESPN/ABC personalities for the rest of the playoffs!!😩😩 Now the guys at TNT & TBS know what they're doing and actually sound like professionals(thank God!🙏🏼). But if you wanna listen to Sam Rosen you can listen to him calling the games on MSG radio broadcast. I was listening to him while watching it on TV.

What is with these garbage calls? Bros talking about doing their nails and which colour is their favorite while Ranger's scoring the first goal of the game. STFU with these anecdotes and just call the game.

As a Rangers fan, trust me when I say this, there is no such thing as an easy win. The Rangers will always keep you on your toes, biting your nails.

No this happens sometimes, as long as all the matchups are done in one conference they can start the next round without the other conference being done with theirs.

Quietly, subtly, Igor has been the difference in every playoff game. And the goalie has to be the best player on the ice and he has been that.

Can not stand Sean McDonough. Cans had their normal bad game after a break. They were trying to be too fancy. Rod keeps throwing that first PP unit out there and it doesn't look as good with Guentzal. Jake Guentzal hasn't been as advertised in these playoffs. He hasn't done anything. Aho needs Turbo on the top line with him. Put Jake, Kuzy, and Necas back together. That line was good.

Canes’ road forward is totally in the hand of their goalies….

How did D’Angelo get away with a two minute minor when if that was Rempe, it would have been five minutes and a game misconduct? Refs trying to already hand the Canes the series it looks like lol. I think that's infrared lights from the tracker inside the puck (infrared lights tend to show up as a reddish-purple in digital cameras)
