NF - Nate (The Search) A MUST WATCH REQUEST Reaction (Reactionalysis)

The NF Journey is on halt this week for a skip forward to Nate from The Search album. Definitely one of the easier ones lyrically to understand!

Nice video to watch when I can't sleep at 3am. I think your reaction to lyrics has really changed. You seem passionate to know the message as well as the instrumentation. Have you been watching Ernest? Lol Anyway, I think it's beautiful that you did this for a young fan. I'm 40 and currently have breast cancer. Just had a surgery on Wednesday. It's scary to be facing this. I can't imagine the strength this 17 year old young man has. Thank you for making a moment of his life brighter and something he doesn't have to "fight" for. Ty, if you're reading this I wish you good health, happiness, and a long future. I don't normally get religious, but God Bless both of you! 🙏

This is a top tier NF song. I think so many of us want the songs done in order because there are mentions and connections to previous songs in the lyrics and videos. Two big examples are Outro where the video for this song has a piece of all other videos in it and Leave Me Alone which he mentions a verse from the song No Name. As a long time NF fan I get to relive the experience of catching the connections with you as the videos come out. The really cool thing MTR has added, is pointing out the music that I didn't know was also a connection to past songs. This is the only channel where I have gotten both the relive experience and the, here is something you missed experience. I love this and I can't wait for more.

Once again displaying the depth of your heart toward others, you can't fake character. Many prayers for Ty, his family and all his care givers as he walks the terrible road of cancer :'( one of my favorite things about this song is how NF uses the sudden change of rhythmic sound as he "changes the subject". At about 7:30 in your video, he's using an OU sound for his rhyme: routes, now, house, miles (i know! you'd think this one wouldn't fit, but he uses it anyway), out, around,...but last time he found out he had to take us from her, you look uncomfortable, im sorry (sorry still falls within the OU sound) let me change the subject. ...Then he goes into the new rhyme sound: abandonment, panicking, manage it, half of it... I love that. I always think its a really clever...to announce you are changing the subject while changing the rhyme :)

Ive been away, loved the intro btw.. Nate.. man this song strikes home for many reasons.. 3:18 he knew you’d be watching.. smacked that hand off the pause button. Lol Also.. i remember your riddle about how to spell mistake.. im a therapist with both a specialty in personality disorders and also having one of my own 12 years diagnosed. If theres one thing normal therapists are never trained, its how insanely different those with personality disorders should be treated. And bc i have one i battle myself.. i tend to have a much better rapport with my clients bc i know all their little sneaky methods.. and i always make the joke before every serious moment to ensure they dont lie or exaggerate to me is, “whatever you might think to embelish.. remember we have the same brain and ive done anything sneaky before you and better.. so dont you try and waste both our time”... the psychiatric asoociation underestimates how insanely evolved we can be.. our intuition is on a massive scale along with creativeness. Very much like Nate here. My overall point is, i have a similar phrase i use in my office to blockade self victimization where i reinforce the constant narrative of “its ok to fall.. i fall all the time.. we cant stop that, but what we can do is learn how to fall FORWARDS”... and i’ve noticed a massive acceptance when were told its OK TO FAIL. Thats when our neurochemicals come in and make some magic and tunes our selfawareness and character more.. so i concur with your mini non psych talk 😉 This form of therapy he used as inspiration to this song is actually what draws me to it bc its part of that “specialty” degree otherwise not taught in normal grad classes. Its called “splitting” or better phrase “lucid splitting”.. its for those who reach a level of self awareness but also become aware it doesnt fix the problem. Bc its for life.. all we can do is learn/teach how to use diff methods of dealing with intrusive thoughts. And bc just like Nate, i refuse any medication... the brain can get quite loud. But its a worthy price i give him a ton of respect for bc medication isnt for everyone. Especially the creative type bc it just kills all that skill and magic a disorder can give you with the right “perception” (fitting name). Its usually a very controversial form of therapy bc we dont know if the client could have shizophrenic genetic markets which Splitting could trigger. But for those it doesnt.. me included. Its the most incredible tool. Its basically rewiring your brain to separate aspects of yourself like for example “logic” and “emotion”.. and literally imagine them both as separate entities, whilst aware it isnt.. its just a tool. But it works great bc whenever we find ourselves ar a cross road, its like we can tune into an almost meditative state of a conference to discuss whats logical or being too emotional etc, to make a proper choice. Whats interesting about Nate is he always seems to have done that on his own.. but in an unhealthy way.. NF vs Fear... NF vs Pride.. he already had the wiring.. just not the right characters tuned in.. which therapy finally seems to have taught him to do here.. bc even at his lowest.. older Nate could never say hes not wiser than young NF.. so its a bit of mind hack cornering someone to truly face themselves without the ability to victimize themselves as being too “crazy” etc.. bc of course an older Nate will know more than a younger one. Its fascinating. 13:40 couldnt have been phrased more perfectly for me, as both as a therapist and with a personality disorder to hear. His words can only be explained to be constructed as they are because of his self awareness tuning of this beautiful confused brain holding itself together making new perceptions of reality. Xo

I remember when I first watched your reactions I really liked the appreciation you had for music behind the lyrics. But after awhile it seemed (to me) that you focused on nothing but the music while completely ignoring the lyrics. I remember I even left a rude comment about it on intro 3 (which I now apologize for) because I felt the lyrics were the most important part of that particular song and the song was one of the main purposes for taking the journey in the first place, so it upset me more then it should of that it seemed u missed the experience that song was offering. I've noticed though that you are once again focusing on lyrics as much as the music behind them, and I really appreciate that. Again, I'm sorry for the rude comment I left in the past. Some music just has the power to make me a little over passionate

Hey! Thanks for your comment. I appreciate your comments regardless of their nature :) I think the thing with intro III, it was much more musically complex, and on a first listening to music I’ll always be drawn towards music rather than lyrics. For this (and others), I found both music and lyrics less complex so it was easier to divide my attention. I guess it’s a good workout to help me with lyrics. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 😊

I checked your channel and I can not see that you reacted to Falling in reverse. Ronnie Radke is a musical genious that have very deep meaning in his lyrics. PLEASE start with checking out POPULAR MONSTER 🔥🔥🔥🔥 he is a perfectionist when it comes to his music so you will not be dissapointed!!

People laughed in his face for wanting to be a rapper. Something that is difficult to get into and often perceived as a waste of time when he should be pursuing a more regular profession.

What is surprising, at least for me having not heard anything from them, why facts of life isn't in his vocabulary. Any education, be that from books or by experience, seems to lack historical context. Almost as if 'he' has a gaping hole in how the world functions. It is this regional outlook which puts me off listening. So, having been lured in I'll now stop listening. It isn't my cup of tea.
