It is incorrect to say the US Supreme Court will hear this case once it has been appealed through the Federal courts. The convicted murderer's attorneys can petition the Supreme Court for a hearing, but they grant very few cases each term so his chances of a Supreme Court hearing are vanishingly tiny.

They couldn’t really put up too much of a fight with the phone data, snap chat, 911 call, the video evidence, on star, etc it goes on with his inconsistencies to his story. His lawyers were terrible. He shouldn't have taken the stand, the Prosecutor didn't have a good case for murder. Without AM on the stand, a senerio with reasonable doubt, not allowing the prosecutor to go way outside the scope of the case, and challenging some sketchy evidence that was entered, he could've gotten off. Nobody placed him at the murder scene. I agree his counsel did nothing to assist him, they harmed by letting him testify trying to recall during a devastating event. They allowed him to incriminate himself. Murdaugh was convicted on speculation, issues that prejudiced the case, circumstantial evidence and self incrimination. He should be retried with real attorneys.

Alex was so stubborn about himself taking the stand! Dick Harpo said, "MY client takes the fifth!" Then smart Alex says,"I knew I stole from EVERYBODY! But I must repeat! I did NOT kill my Mags and Pawpaw!" What an idiot! That kennel video? Was nothing! He should have shut up! And if the State only hung onto that video? Then all Alex could say? Was the video was from hours earlier? Or that it was NOT at the time of when the disgusting senseless murders took his Mags & Pawpaw? Reasonable doubt! But Alex wanted to show all that he could win? All the time?!? The only way that he could ever get off? Would be having a BFF in the Supreme Court!?!? But? After 6 long weeks? Alex? Can dream on! He's in for good! He kept yapping and yapping and loved to hear the sound of his own voice! LE, SLED, The State! Knew AM would be yapping his way into prison! What an idiot! Never ever take the stand! No matter who you think you are!

@@lastonegal6533 He couldn’t say the video was from earlier. They have the phone data showing the exact time the video was recorded. They analyzed that phone there’s no getting around it he was there. He felt he had no choice but try and salvage and recover from the lie he told that he was not there minutes before they were murdered. He did it.

@Ms Natty I was making a tongue and cheek comment? However? If Alex Murder never took the stand? I think the defense only needed one juror? And I'm sure Harpo? May have went on a lam? And said how dumb it was for the phone records couldn't never have been that time of exact killings? And now that he took the stand? He has a 1% of having a chance? Yet? It will take 4 to 6 years from now? I think Alex will just die in the heat in that prison? No more Vinne Vine shirts? Or cool showers? I think he will find God? Or in the heat? He has to go to Mallory Beach case in Aug. And the jailers will make him wake up at 2 or 3 am and he will have to wait? In that hot van? I think Alex will confess? Or beg someone to kill him? I am so happy that he took that stand! All that time! Paul's video sealed his murder from the grave! Alex,"Are they dead yet?"

No. The prosecution set the penalty at life. It’s easier to try a case without the death penalty, as the jury is unlikely to agree on that as punishment. He won’t win an appeal. It’s his right to do so, but not likely to win.

Well the fact that he lied about being down by the kennels where Maggie and Paul were. His whole world was falling apart and the plan was in place to do away with the two problems that were muddying the waters. The fact that the investigation around his appeal is going to be done by another SLED office is good. But I think it took longer to get back to the house to not hear the gunshots if he was not there. This depends on what route was taken and how the truck was faced. Backing up and turning in the road to head for the house would take more time.

The video is solid on its own. It’s in forensic evidence. Not necessary to do voice analysis. AM admitted it was his voice. The hair in Maggie’s hand was determined to be her own. It was released from the shot to her head. Very sad.
