Does exactly what it says on the tin. Thanks for highlighting this Andi. Much easier to install than the original Python one. Although the requirement to use a particular version of Python with the original one no longer exists with the updated version.

that is so cool! and it worked so much better then a different one i tested earlier today. added it to obs and on the streamdeck use a multi action to show the screen and do the hotkey was ameizing. tnx andy

Thanks for this detailed tutorial! I got an issue with the hotkey shortcuts not working in Wayland (Linux) as soon as I click outside of OBS. It's fixed by starting the user session with Xorg instead of Wayland. I'm sharing this if someone faces the same problem !

Thanks for the tutorial! Question: I know the mouse-zooming inside OBS is using the script, but is the mouse-zooming that you're doing in the video in post-production? I'm asking because it seems like when you zoom inside OBS with the script, you can't actually interact with the window you're displaying. I'm assuming that's not possible using this script?

The only thing I wanted was for it to work with the setup for vertical screens 1080x1920 (9:16). But apparently the mouse doesn't reach the edges in this setup I mentioned.

Damn, finally!! I confess that I did the old tutorial using Python in the past, but I found it very complicated. I've formatted my PC since then and ended up not doing it anymore out of laziness, but this new one really is much better, thank you for that. By the way, is there any new way to track your face just in picture-in-picture mode?

Yeah the old one can be so complicated. I just use the NVIDA AR Move in Exeldro's Move plugin.

@@Andilippi Dude, I saw your tutorial and managed to partially execute it. But I have a problem. I use Round Corners to make my facecam circular, and I apply the same type of transition that you used at 0:25, but I'm not able to make the camera follow my face without changing the position of the circle. Do you think you could make a video showing how to combine these effects? Or at least, do you think you could demonstrate it in one of your next lives? I'm already following you on Twitch, I can ask for help in one of your next broadcasts.

Awesome! I’ll have to swap out that python script version with this one to see if it fixes some of the glitches I always run into with the python version. The python version I always have to go in and tweak the settings because it zooms into the wrong monitor every time I first start it up. Hopefully this can fix that.

Is it possible to "track mouse" but only do it in a separate small window? Lets say Im playing a FPS game, and Im sniping, then viewers can use channel points to spring in a extra smaller window in top right corner that has a small zoomed in window, so they easier can see how horrible aimer I am, or how amazing I am? So.... how would one make a smaller window that only tracks the mouse, but does not effect the general OBS stream area, but only for that small window I make at desired size?

I have a problem with the zoom, I basically have to record a short 9/16 format on effect and it practically won't zoom out of the 9/16 frame, how is this possible?

The script has an annoying problem that blinks the screen that has the Display Capture active every time you switch the scene that contains the script function. Hope it gets fixed so it can be 100% useful. Despite the "bug" is a lovely and smooth plugin!

PSA: When using this method on a WINDOW CAPTURE SOURCE, it's all bugged up. Any resize you do to your window source (i.e. a browser window to capture your Chrome tab) does NOT carry over and CLIENT AREA does not work also. Any idea how to get this to work on a browser window as described in the example above?

I'm usually pretty good at troubleshooting, but this isn't working out of the box, and there could be many problems with the code that I'm not willing to sift through :/

"Zoom Source" shows empty with no options on a MacBook Pro M1max running Monterey 12.5, and OBS 30 :(

@@EnricoDePaoli Sure. Mac has some security settings turned on by default. Someone left a comment on the plugin page with the same problem, and how they solved it. They fixed it by enabling some setting "Allow all resources". I don't know where that is, but this is also worth checking out: System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy Make sure OBS has the permissions it needs.

As mentioned in the video you have to enable “use any source” and make sure you manually apply the sizing too :)
