red wings wouldve been better
The caps shouldn’t of been in the playoffs
Of the teams in the East who went up 3-0, the Rangers were the only one with killer instinct. Too bad the Canes and the Panthers didn't exhibit any of that in their games against the Isles and Lightning.

Don’t think the rangers tried that hard this series.
Thank you New York 👌
wow good job Geo
If your hypothesis was that Detroit would have been a better match then Washington, then the very first thing i'm looking at is the penalty minutes and the volume of penalties Red wings took during reg season? Rangers were 3rd on P/P during reg season and 3 on P/K. Detroit was 9th on P/P and 14 on P/K. Now, the next number not so referenceable, but over 82 games, Detroit took 92 more penalty minutes then Washington, even with Wilson, sitting Ovechkin.
of the 7 goals that were scored by the Capitals compared with 15 by the Rangers, Ovechkin was on the ice for 5 of the 7 goals scored, he didn't take any penalties. Better check out volumes of goals and when they were scored and who was on the ice. Offensive talent isn't going to cut it in playoffs. Too many penalties, and whether you're the Capitals or the Canucks, if you're taking too many penalties, there's better teams.
Lets be honest anybody believed the caps would win the series were a tad silly The sweep was the most certain thing this 1st round. No offense to Washington but the Rangers are another breed entirely
This is why I did not want the Penguins to even come close to playoffs. They and the Capitals both need to rebuild. It is bizarre what it is going on in the NHL right now.
I think Ovechkin started resting with the start of the playoffs anyway. Five shots on goal, no shots in two of the games. And barely moving anyway.
Rempe plays and they win!!!
Come on tho....Seems like most people already forgot about bostons horror story from last year. Or what happened between us and the devils last season. Once the playoffs hit.....ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN. Be proud of our rangers....im sure it looked easier than it was....
Never seen a team at -37 make the playoffs, usually even -2 is rare. Red Wings or Flyers even Pens seem better.

North Stars were -70-something in 1991. Beat the President's trophy winning Blackhawks and then two more very good teams on the way to the finals.
Cannot wait to watch the Rangers loose to Carolina

Well see our record vs Carolina is fine , don't be so sure we'll lose.
pens and wings would've put up a much better fight, caps are a joke and ovie had 0 points all series
OV is old. Washington $$$%^
Picking Winnipeg to win the cup is crazy lol
TBF, the Capitals team were somewhat old or out-matched overall. Even Ovechkin in his prime wouldn't have been able to push this series beyond 5.
