No it was not. They traded for Burns, he is getting a hefty contract - no comparison to a draftee, they just included the draft choice as part of a trade agreement. Don't compare trades to draftees. I am not suggesting btw that it was a bad deal, but its comparing apples to oranges.

Nobody is talking about Dante Miller out of S. Carolina. We got him in FA, and was one of the fastest players in FA AND in the draft. Homie is Ivy League smart, ran a 4.28, & benched 28reps. Nothing to sneeze at. My guess is Tracy jr is 3rd down back, and Dante and Singletary split carries

We wisely did not take an offensive lineman. We have too many young guys -- Ezudu, Neal, Schmitz -- to figure out as it is. They were wise to get some older, good players to balance out the youth. We are not winning a championship next year. Let the offense line come into view and draft a complement next year. Same thing with defensive line. We have players that need snaps to see what we have. We have a tough schedule. I think we win 9 or 10 games, compete for playoff spot, maybe miss out but finish the year strong on a good year from Daniel.

Instead of the running back or linebacker they could have gone after an OL or DL but overall I'm pleased with the draft. The first 4 seem like they will get right into the lineup and contribute and even the last two could def. contribute this coming year. Every pick is solid and these guys are gonna get better. Just like i felt about the draft last year pretty much.

Giants signed 5 OL with experience, if they drafted a rookie that wasn't going to start, they were going to have to waive them and allow other teams to take them. That's on the OL and DL. They also have 2 DL that showed promise last year and still on their first contracts.

The problem with the Giants not getting the QB that they wanted and thought highly about, is that they may not have the opportunely to acquire a franchise QB in the draft for who knows how many years to come. And what they are going to be running Daniel Jones and his limited skill set out there and try to win with a QB that has not over five season been able to put points on the board, elevate any player on the team, or remain healthy. Good luck with that. Brilliant schemes by coaches to hide the weaknesses of a QB can only work for so long, until the league catches up to that game and makes adjustments to shut the things that he can do down.

@@usuhbi but arent you listening to the people on those shows to back up your point of this being one of the best QB draft classes and will be for a long time? The 2021 Class started off the same way with the first 3 picks as QB then followed up with 2 more going in the top 15. Therefor its safe to say that the scouts/coaches/GM agreed that there were 5 worthy QB to go in the top 15. These people get paid big money to be experts and the analysts on tv seemed to agree with them prior to the draft happening. Anyway, i think you might have missed the whole point of the comment. The point was simply to say nobody ever really knows for sure that this past draft class is the best QB class or will be for a long time. Only time will tell and according to the the Giants this was a 3 QB class and the other 3 werent worth the 6th pick since they went with Nabers instead of a QB.

Despite what many believe, the Giants do not have on their roster an elite, game changing Edge Rusher, and they desperately needed one. They have in Kayvon and Burns, two undersized pass rushers, with Kayvon disappearing for games at time, and he often sacrifices the outside to gain an inside tract to the QB, allowing big plays when the pocket collapses and the QB turns the corner that Kelvin just left unmanned. Perhaps the Giants are thinking two mediocre edge rushers = one Elite Dominant Edge Rusher, but the two together do not equal one Reggie White, Richard Dent, Smith, LT, etc...

@@Too-WavyyBut entirely accurate. My uncle is a super NFL scout for Tampa. We discuss these issues in detail. He informs me that if the Giants were to explore trading Daniel Jones, he would be shocked if any team offered more than an inconsequential late round draft pick, as his skill-set more closely aligns with that of a career back-up rather than an elite QB, and Kayvon is often manhandled by offensive linemen out-weighing him by 60-80 pounds, completely neutralizing him. I respect his opinions because he knows football certainly as much or more than I and most people ever will. It is also factual that Kayvon goes quarters at a time without making any major impact on the defense. He has 11.5 sacks last season, with 6.5 of them coming in three games against the lowly Commanders and NY Jets. Than means in 15 others games he had a combined 5 sacks. In the two games against Philly he had Zero sacks and a whopping three tackles. Against Dallas he had another Zero sacks, and 1 tackle over two games (no existent presence). I am sorry if you don't like to hear the facts and the truth, but being better informed is the way I always intend to walk through life.

Til then, he is possibly a good player the NYGs needed to draft a little early to fill a need. If Waller retires this is, if he returns it was a pick that could’ve been a really good guard unfortunately. He basically forced NYGs to make next years pick, this year.
