As a Giants fan were thankful we didn't draft him. We got a million holes to fill before destroying another QB. Daniel Jones never had a chance no matter what. Jones isn't good but we failed him.

Love Kwesi's moves with the Vikings. Start Darnold and see how it goes without sending McCarthy out there unprepared. Adding a top pass rusher was a need. Retained all their future high picks. Well done. The new generation of GMs all seem competent.
The Giants did JJ McCarthy a favour by not drafting him JJ in New York knowing how that fan base is in a division with the Cowboys and Philly
Giants have been desperate for a big time WR since OBJ. Now they got it. They can be a bit patient with the QB search or maybe Jones finally gets the playmaker he always needed

big time WRs don't win SBs without big time QBs, as the Vikings well know. as a longtime Vikes fan we've had more than a couple big time WRs without big time QBs. no SB wins or appearances in nearly 50 yrs. we've had great defenses, great RBs, great WRs and no great QBs. all of which leads me to believe get your QB if you have to draft or sign one every year till you find one. otherwise your building a racecar with no engine. glad you guys passed on JJ, he may not be a sure thing but you can't win if you don't play

@@wildwillie5408 Vikings have a decent OL, great playmakers. JJ came into a situation that's best for his development. Giants do not have those same luxuries. JJ would not be able to develop well in NY because he's not the type of QB that can carry a team, at least not yet. Giants at some point need to bring in some high-ceiling playmakers, which this draft was great for. We've been missing that go-to guy since 2018. Whoever the future Giants QB will be, he will be in a better QB because of the decisions made in this draft.
Perk is absolutely wrong. They got burned with Daniel Jones for taking a QB as a need and reaching. They would have reached for McCarthy and quite honestly the Vikings did too.

Daboll called Orlovsky out a couple of years ago when he showed clips of Toney and a few others supposedly open that Jones "missed" and DaBoll said they were open because they ran the wrong pattern and an ex-QB should know that a play gets called and a QB has a progression to go thru .A guy running a wrong route gets ignored .Plus he said on those plays Jones went to the right guy.

McCarthy is a massive reach at 6, nevermind at 10 like the Vikings pulled. Missing there at 6, like they did in 2019, will set you back a decade. You've seen that with this franchise

It sucked waiting around all night for pick 28 and then they traded back twice in the last 4 picks. But it worked perfectly for them They literally have the first pick tonight and their top WR on their board is sitting right there. Swagu hates the Bills and Josh for whatever reason, especially after trading Diggs. AD MICTHELL IS STILL AVAILABLE. I can't believe these guys get paid to analyze these things and still have no clue as to what they're talking about. and no they aren't trading for Tee or Brandon, they can't afford those contracts. Whoever trades for them will need to sign them to new deals
Most of these QBs will more than likely end up as career back-ups.

Malik Nabers is probably going to be a great Wide Receiver but they'll still be a 6 to 7 win team at best with Daniel Jones at Quarterback, I hope Giants fans understand that.

That's one year. Nabers is a long term investment whether or not Jones stays beyond 2024. To be honest I don't see what people see in McCarthy. People are inflating him to be something he is not. If the Giants took JJ and he bombs out, you know what the media say, "Why did the Giants take McCarthy knowing that they didn't have a WR?" SMH!
Totally agree on Dan O’s assessment of Nix. I had him as QB4 can’t blame him for his system. Dude is absolutely accurate in the short to mid passing game. Solid decision maker under pressure 👏

For two dudes who preach about building from the line of scrimmage back, Swagu and Danny O seem really enthusiastic to send JJ McCarthy to a team that has nothing at the line of scrimmage.

If I remember correctly, Daniel Jones needed a better O-line. If the Giants got him some help in that area (I haven't checked who they drafted outside of Nabers) I think he may do fine.

At this point why are you talking about the order of the QBs drafted? They are all first rounders and we will see how they play out in a few months.
It all depends on how the Giants project JJ McCarthy. If they do not believe JJ McCarthy has what it takes to be a franchise quarterback, then they should be disciplined and pass on drafting him. A lot of people criticized the Giants for passing on drafting Sam Darnold when they had the opportunity to draft him and they were proven correct in that decision.

Daniel Jones, the Giants QB, will make $36 million dollars this year. He's never thrown more than 14 TD's in a season. He's missed 18 games (more than a season) in the last 3 seasons due to injury. This is nuts. The Giants front office is awful.
McCarthy has a similar skill set to Jones. I wouldn't say it's an upgrade unless we talking about Caleb Williams. The Giants organization isn't in a position to bring along a QB or develop one, especially with Philly and Dallas waiting twice a year. Give Dimes more weapons with his contract up after this season. This is Jones make or break year.

College and nfl defense coverages is different. Jus bcos JJ can make play action passes look easy in college don’t mean in the nfl is the same
As a vikings fan I'm both extremely glad they skipped JJ given he was my QB3 after caleb and drake, AND I think it was the right decision for their team. JJ needs some development and Giants aren't ready to provide it. Best of love to giants fans and I think by next dradt the team will be a good landing spot for a rookie

The giants have so many holes on the roster, It would've been insane to trade the 6th pick plus what will likely be a top 10 pick next year to move up to 3. If you want to draft a qb, maybe just don't win multiple meaningless games at the end of the season when you're already eliminated from playoff contention
