At this moment of filming I was asleep in the Milford Plaza hotel, in a room that faced towards Times Square. If I had known this was gonna be filmed I’d have looked out the window and I’d have seen him run past 45th street between Marriot and Leo Lindsey’s (basically when he first starts running from his car and looks right down 45th 👌🏻

Great times back in 2001

I literally drove through Times Square on one of the first days of the COVID lockdowns and it was, in fact, this empty. It took me two minutes at most. I'd driven through there before and it took half an hour just to reach the traffic light. I've lived in NYC all my life and that was the only time I EVER saw it empty.

Everything is just fine, then you wake up in April of 2020 :)

I was there, it was just like this in COVID time , rainy wet overcast. Just a few people biking with Boarded up Stores. The screens were still flashing on but it was 95% empty ....

Yea this and I am legend were the only movies in the 2000s where they actually filmed an empty time square

JVC is long gone. In the final scene, while Cruise is talking to techSupport, at the roofTop, you can see the original World Trade Center. That gives me goosebumps, everytime I see. It’s “old Ny”

I have not seen anything on how they pulled this off. the only thing that i could think of is the first one. but again, logistic nightmare
