This week, we check out a rare champagne-topped tiki cocktail to ring in the new year! This recipe, provided by Shanna Schad, uses Lychee, Gold Rum and bitters to put together a light and uniquely flavored drink to toast at midnight. Cheers!
New Years Golden Tiki
½ oz Pineapple juice
2 tsp cinnamon syrup
1 oz Lychee juice
½ oz Orange liqueur ( cointreau, grand marnier, dry curacao )
3 oz Koloa Gold Rum (can use bacardi 8 anos)
3 dashes tiki bitters (can use angostura in a pinch)

Can I get some of those tips. When I opened my champagne cork flew and still somewhere in my cantina. I had never had it go flying like that before, but I believe it was bc it was champagne and not other bubbly, and champagne has more pressure. but any advice would help. cheers.

Hah yes.. I think it was an ooold bottle of Prosecco and was extremely fused together, but a little elbow grease got it open.. just took 72 attempts. Hope you have a great NYE, cheers Vino!

haha it took us FOREVER to get the Lychee.. we actually went to three different stores that we thought would have it-- no luck.. had to end up *ordering* several cans worth. frustrating.. but.. we did it!
Another well done video and another cocktail on the list. I JUST bought a cheap champers for mixing too! I think I even have a lychee juice in my cupboard!

Happy new Year to both of you! Shanna Schad will be heavily featured at our house, as there were requests for that other cocktail she has that I won't write without copy and paste assistance... I love lychee or liechee. Sparkle is going to be very mad at you if I decide to smash a bottle once we're done with it like that... I really want and she knows I'd really want to, but you would get blamed...

Shanna strikes again with another unique-ingredient cocktail for sure. Her MelekelekeMaka-MaiTai is probably still my favorite from her, but it's all great stuff. Indeed, smashing bottles are always a great and fun tradition, especially now that New Years Eve is here, shatter 2022 into 2023 with a bang.. but yes.. creates a dangerous mess. Best to do it in a foresaken alleyway 😋 Hope y'all have a great NYE! Cheers!
