it's a shame how Mew isn't as popular even after all these years. her voice is one of my favourites from vocaloids, its soft, gentle, and goes well with a more emo rock song like this. not to mention the illustrations for her are all stunning

Listening to this in 2022…

Mew had so much potential but she was overshadowed by the more “cutesy” sounding vbs. It’s a shame because her voice is beautiful.

I don't think that's the problem. She's plenty cute. Her voice is a bit tricky to use though, she's quite limited when it comes to what genres she fits in, and her higher notes can get rather squeaky and unclear. I love her to bits though, in the right genre she sounds beautiful. Her library is really high quality, with varied pronunciations and nice transitions. She sounds very realistic. Nevertheless, she can be quite difficult to use depending on what kind of music you're making.

Mew has a lot of potential that I feel like people aren’t willing to tap into. Typically I hear her voice being pitched up way too high where it doesn’t sound like her anymore. I mean, I know that’s a problem with most Vocaloids no matter what their intended style is supposed to be. I know Sachiko especially has a particular problem with this when her voice is supposed to be deep intentionally. It’s a shame a lot of producers are afraid of deeper voiced Vocaloids. And don’t get me wrong, I’m not ragging on higher pitched Vocaloids either, they deserve their spot rightfully. It’s just that I feel like the Vocaloid community needs a bit more diversity in vocal ranges.
