The probe on the bottom is likely the temperature sensor for the heating controller.

Overall a good unit I do want to get one and that's the size I was thinking cause I'll use it for more than carburetors... I think nylon tube as feet super glued to the basket metal would be a good fix thanks for this review.

Not sure on glueing them. Will give it a go and see how it holds up. Because it’s on the floor and that’s where all the vibration comes from, I’m wondering how long it will last. I’ll figure something out! Great tool to have for sure! Thankfully they’ve gotten really affordable.

I have been using Zep general purpose cleaner for the carburetors. It’s not overly harsh and I can get it locally. Didn’t use it in the ugly cleaning solution video. Only some suggestions I was given of what people use. Gnarly!

so idk if you know this, but you can actually put all your parts in a plastic zip lock bag > add degreaser > only put water in the bath > then start the machine. it helps with the clean up process and you wont waste so much degreaser. If you put the part in a mason jar it does an even better job because the sound waves bounce off the glass better.

I’ve had that suggested before but never tried it. I generally run my cleaner very hot and I don’t know how well a zip lock bag would hold up. Worth a try sometime if I can find bags big enough to hold a carburetor!

These are good cleaners. One hint to get it to heat up faster is to turn on the cleaner when it's cold and it will heat up about 3 to 4 times as fast. That's what I do with mine and it really cuts the heating time by a lot. Just make sure that you never turn it on without fluid in it or you WILL burn up the transducers. Good luck - later

@@MuscleCarSolutions No. what I’m saying is after you put the cleaner/water in it and have the heater turned on then turn on the cleaner like you have parts in it and it will heat up a lot quicker.

  • @MuscleCarSolutions

Yeah but the temp has to be kept low. So unless you’ve got a cleaner with lots of transducers. I’ve yet to find one of these cheaper models with an aggressive number of them to agitate the solution enough.

When I called the folks at Berrymans years ago they suggested one of their cleaners worked in an ultrasonic cleaner and the other was not recommended. I forget which was which. I’m saying the cleaner they have that is acid based they don’t recommend. Heat or not.

That degreaser that you use is what's turning your carburetor is gray I use degreaser and I use a down soap and I don't have none of my carburetors turn colors like that never I don't care how long I'll leave it in there does not turn colors like that That is the degreaser that you're using and if if I read my to there all that dirt what it came off there I could run it 2 3 2 or 3 times and all that dirt will come off and not have to rub on it i think Carver is full of rust and all of it comes off within two or three passes 30 minutes each
