Make Carb & Engine Work Easier - Central Machinery Ultrasonic Cleaner From Harbor Freight - Review

I do a fair amount of engine and carb work and I go through a lot of carb cleaner, brushes, Q-Tips and blue shop towels. I'm trying to cut back my expenditures and I'm hoping this machine will help with that. I'm also hoping this machine will speed up the cleaning process for me. The plan is to do a heavy clean in the ultrasonic cleaner first, then follow up with my typical cleaning if needed. I like the results I've got using this machine so far. You can find this machine at Harbor Freight.

***UPDATE*** I thought I did enough research concerning what solution to use so my parts would NOT turn dark gray. Well, it appears that whoever convinced me that Zep would be a good cleaner for aluminum parts, was dead wrong. I did more research and discovered multiple people recommend Simple Green Pro HD Heavy Duty Cleaner for cleaning aluminum. It's a newer purple solution, not their old green solution. I'll give it a try and let you know how it works!
***A subscriber did point out that the machine reads in Celsius, NOT Fahrenheit. My assumption is this is a rebadged product from China and they didn't want convert it over to Fahrenheit for the US market. ***

Ha! Wellll...that makes sense! I remember thinking to myself, that is wayyy hotter than 75 degrees F. I wonder why the display would read C when they are selling them in the US?! Rebadged product and too much $$ to convert to F is my guess...

Zip has alkaline in it. alkaline will etch and turn aluminum black. So do not use any cleaner that has alkaline in it.

I'm beginning to think you are right. It's cheaper and I have plenty in the shop.
