Great to hear! I WANT to trust it. I guess it’s like anything else…some good ones, some bad ones. I normally do trust the WR rating.

I have one Pagani Design watch, a different model, but it was also promised water resistance. I have tested that it can withstand at least swimming. It also withstood the sauna(in Finnish sauna, 100 degrees), which is a pretty tough test because there is hot steam and usually watch manufacturers do not recommend any watch to be kept in a sauna. Pagani design makes good watches at an affordable price.

Great to know! I go back and forth about whether or not to trust budget watch WR ratings. I guess I feel like it's a gamble...may hold, may not. No water in any of my watches yet, though!

Well, all dial changes. Usually when you see different versions, you like to have some specs change. but this is their style, and people seem to like the different versions.

The faux meteorite is probably the only draw back for me, but it looks good in general. Definitely good value for money watches!

Pagani are just killing it now…two years ago i wouldnt have touched a pagani but now they are my new slot where seiko and vostok used to fit in my collection….i will be pushing the button on at least two of these…thks for the great vid

Yeah, they may be artificial and stamped, but they still look great! No comparison to a real meteorite dial, but again…decent for the price!

Which color do you like better? Another viewer pointed out that they added two more colors to the V4 too…not meteorite, but solid Tiffany blue and an all white (or gray???) dial with same colored subdials.

Great review! I've had an interest in the Moonwatch or the Bulova, but spending $5K+ nada! I also had eyes on couple other chronographs with similar movement at $300-400 range. This one nails it! Lume not that great but readable at 3am. I have the silver/white one on NATO strap and ordered a leather rally strap from eBay. Sometimes I miss not having the date window but it looks nicer without! The comic style engraving on back, cute! Makes for great conversation at the pub!

Yeah, it’s beautiful! I lean towards that one as well, but I love white dials, and this gray version is almost between white and gray.

Looks like they're now selling the "sky blue" version where the subdials are blue as well, plus it has a white bezel. A lot of the color variations look so amazing so maybe I'll just get multiple 😆 On top of the totally-not-tiffany blue version I also love the one with the white/dark blue combo with blue subdials and especially the red/white combo

It sure looks like it. Might be another near the 18 on the same subdial. I definitely see some artifacts on top of the crystal, but those appear to be on the dial.

Absolutely. I did have to struggle a little with my PD-1701 V2 bracelet, but they are removable.

Witt, I go for the v3 for me. I love my watch. Is now my favorite. How hard is it to replace the battery on these?? I understand that there might be a reset of some kind. Have you done it??

Me too...I love the more classic look of the black and white on V3. I haven't had to replace the battery on a VK63 yet. But pretty straight forward. Definitely need some small watchmaker tweezers to remove the battery clip and do the reset.

I’d like to see them switch to JUST the applied logo, and ditch the signature. Tough sell, I know. But they did it on another watch (can’t recall the model number) and I thought it looked really clean.

What color is the “white” dial? Silver, gray or white? It almost has a bluish-green tint in the video. Thanks!

Excellent! I’m glad to hear a real-life account for the positive aspect of the water resistance rating. Another viewer had theirs flooded during a swim. I’m always a little cautious with non-screwed in pushers on a Chronograph. Though I know there are chronos with even higher WR with same pushers…

That is some of the beauty of this price point. I refer to this watch as an elegant beater! But since it looks so nice, I have less of the “beater” mentality!

Oh no I got nervous seeing V4 in the title since I just took delivery of my Black Dial V3. Relieved to know it's only a dial update sans date. I want to stay true to the black dial homage of the Speedy anyway. I actually don't mind the date in the V3 but maybe Pagani could offer a black dial sans date also. Looks like the bracelet is the same. I can rest easy now knowing nothing really changed but a meteorite dial option. 😆

Haha! Yep, no worries, just dial changes here. I think I still prefer the black dial version three as well, for the same reasons you mention. But this one looks sharp too!

I hope they can get a meteorite BLACK, I like the white ones, but I already have a white dial watch, so I need a black one to fill in the gaps!

Thanks for the review. V4 looks very nice, but not sure it will be enough to get me to buy one. I already have the V3 in black and the PD1644 (Daytona Homage). Phenomenal value though. They could easily sell these for 2 or even 3 times as much.

Because I only bought these two watches to feature on this video…I didn’t plan on keeping either of them! I like this gray better than the blue, so when a friend wanted the blue that was an easy parting. But I’ve still got the gray all wrapped up trying to decide whether or not to keep it! I feel like I would wear v3 more, and don’t need two. But….this gray with the black subdials and white hands looks awesome! Damnit, now you’ve got me thinking about it again. That blue dial looks incredible!!! Not really a big deal that it isn't "real" meteorite. Rocks from earth and rocks from orbit both come from the same accretion disk. Nothing special really :P

When I follow the AliExpress link I see the exact V4 watches in this video, silver (white) and ice blue. The V3 black dial has changed, though. Nobody really knows why. Speculation is that they were too close to the original??? I have also heard conspiracy theories that many different factories produce the the watch and slap the Pagani name on it, but nobody has been able to verify that claim, that I'm aware of.

@@WatchWitt It's insane to me that SO many people have bought these without even checking. It's clearly different. I ordered the hulk rolex one, the Daytona copy and the speed master clone from pagani design and cancelled them immediately after I checked on them. They don't match at all. Some of the 1 star reviews on AliExpress are saying the quality is absolutely shit and others are saying that the watch is not matching the yt ones. I'm Very sad and confused because I was genuinely excited to get these watches. I don't even know where to buy the authentic ones anymore and I don't trust any of them. I would appreciate it if you looked deeper in it and made a video about it, let people be aware of the scam and the shady shit that's going on.

I bought these, so there's no risk of it being a YT reviewer bait and switch...I think they truly just made changes. But AliExpress will always have that tinge of shadiness for this reason. There's no way to cross reference or double check on anything. And the number of stores that claim to be "official" is mesmerizing. So, I just try to look for a store with some time under their belt, lots of followers, and a decent approval rating. It's all a gamble...

Kinda surprised they left the "Pagani Design" text on the dial, since they've taken it off most of their newest releases. That's the one thing keeping me from getting this one.

Good catch...they're both! This is the Seiko meca-quartz movement. The main time runs off of quartz and the chronograph function has a mechanical module, to put it simply. So, the chrono seconds hand has a smoother sweep than a traditional quartz chronograph. Sorry I didn't mention that in the video, this was meant to be a quick follow up to my previous 1701 v3 video. So, I was just highlighting the only changes...all on the dial.

Wish list: Matte black paint on hands and indices. Mostly brushed or satinized case. Ditch "Design" and "Chronograph" from the dial. Maybe use a fluorescent day-glo orange chrono second hand (sacrilege!). I'm hoping Version 5 will be a reverse panda. Don't care about the bracelet - this watch belongs on a Nato.

No, this is a mechaquartz...quartz for the normal time keeping, and a mechanical module for the chronograph function. A hybrid.

Yes. This is mecaquartz. Quartz for time operation and mechanical module for chronograph operation. But all powered by battery. It’s a hybrid. Sort of the best of both worlds, some would say. Accuracy of quartz, (fairly) smooth sweep of the chronograph seconds hand.

Yes, they're surprisingly well built. One of the only flaws I've found so far is the springbars are REALLY thin...too thin for this bracelet. Everything else about the watch head is solid, though!

If V5 had just the logo and Pagani underneath and most critical AR coated sapphire it would be Perfect. Way too much glare from the crystal an AR coating would just elevate this watch to perfection, and the modest price increase would totally be worth it.

I agree. They probably have to really weigh where to cut corners to keep the price low. But like you said, small cost items that really make a difference.

Too bad they have that hideous push-pin bracelet again. Should have the beautiful bracelet they have on their Daytona homages. Great looking watches.especially since they got rid of the dreadful incorrect date windows.

I’ll have to check out the bracelet that’s on the Daytona homage. Screws for the links? I haven’t sized my V3 yet…took it off and put on tropic style FKM…nearly perfect for the watch! But I do know that replacement springbars are needed, as the OEM ones are bent. I couldn’t even get the bracelet end links to reseat in the pins!

Yes, these are just fun variations!

pagani made me realise one thing. the moonwatch is actually a pretty ugly watch, it's just omega hype that make people go craxy for it. It is a big dish of a watch. the proportions are wrong. Thet have that thick as chapter ring or indices ring (whatever you want to call it) just to full up the watch. It can easily be 40mm without issues and be much better protportioned. Leave the subdials as is and reduces the indices down all the way. voila much better proportioned watch.

I was actually the other way around. The original watch didn't really attract me, but once I had the Pagani in-person I could appreciate the Omega so much more and I really like the way it looks now!

Just depends on which dial you prefer…everything else is the same (case, movement, bracelet, etc). I like the classic look of the v3 better, but that’s just me.

It's okay but they're still Aliexpress watches. I used to love buying them until i got more into watches are realised they just dont give me the satisfaction like a brand name watch.

I can definitely relate to that. Sometimes we explore, sometimes funds are limited, and sometimes we just love the thrill of a bargain/value. The latter is my current place. I don't really care about the name brand if I like the watch and I think it presents good value. But there ARE some funky AliExpress brand names that I just can't get past!
