Tesla unveiled Roadster 2.0 in 2017 as the second iteration of its first vehicle. Designed for ultra-high performance and potentially capable of more than 250 mph, it was the first #tesla to utilize the company’s tri-motor “#Plaid” powertrain. Its name inspired by a reference to high-speed space travel in the Mel Brooks comedy Spaceballs (1987), the Plaid platform features a layout in which one motor drives the front axle and two drive the rear, offering all-wheel drive and torque-vectoring capability.
Elon Musk has Tweeted about a possible future SpaceX package that could outfit Roadster with cold-air rocket thrusters, giving it a potential 0-to-60-mph acceleration time of 1.1 seconds and, according to #elonmusk Musk, the unconventional ability to levitate. The prototype also included a two-plus-two interior layout, removable glass roof, curved OLED center display, and a camera system in lieu of traditional mirrors to maximize aerodynamic efficiency.

I doubt the jet thrusters will even be street-legal... and there are plenty of non-street-legal cars that are way faster than this car.
I just want to see a full on, non prototype review before I consider spending my non existent 200+k

The original roadster was made approximately 2007-2013. Google image it you’ll see.
Why not just call it CyberTruck or MuskCart? 😂😂😂
Who's betting that it will either have the tri Hair Pin motor (20% more torque than the Model S Plaid), or will be Quad motor (maybe HP)...?

QUAD drivetrain is LIKELY. and w/ 4680 Pack and LARGE DIE castings for FWD & RWD, but not Gigacastings.

@@joshblackburn2505 - THOUSANDS of people have Ridden in the Drivable Prototype since 2017 . its Currently under PRE-production and being Tweaked for 2023 Rerelease. its likely using LATEST 48v Technology and NEW Power Architecture , it will have a Panoramic 18" Diagonal screen. and Project HIGHLAND cameras .

Someone needs to look up definition of roadster. I guess if the Taycan can be called a turbo....... nevertheless, this looks gorgeous.

@@IAmTheGlovenor I did see that after posting. But still, traditional 'roadster' means drop top (fold down/retractable/fully removable) this looks to be a Targa style. Nowadays car termanology seems to be interchangeable for some reason. I guess in this case it's okay.
This car smells like it was made in America, Ferrari ok then it's nice too

Realistically it’s probably not coming for another few years. The deposits put down for it by people was simply to help line up with the budget needed to make them. Musk is a weirdo though, so who knows at this point lol

Plot twist: it will be released when the majority of cars on the road come with the specs of the roadster by default that way he can say he released it and by then the parts and build will be pennies to the dollar 💸
First they started calling cars with 4 doors "coupes". Now they gonna call a hardtop sports car a roadster??? C'mon man!

I put down $50,000 for this car almost four years ago and although I thought I'd have it by now, I'm not mad, disappointed or frustrated because I know when it does come out it will be much better than what I was expecting to receive. For example; I bought the Model S Plaid in June-2021 and it's nearly as fast as what the Roadster was anticipated to be, e.g.

I'm not a fan of EVs. If zero point energy doesn't come around your really not saving anything. Are traditional power generation is still hands down the best bang for the buck in power. These green power sources can & never will compete with it. But the over all look of it is bad a$$.
lucid air sapphire will probably smoke the roadster. It's just too late to be the best on the market.

The Sapphire is a pipe dream, non production car. Lucid can’t even produce the current models. Lucid will be out of business by the end of 2024. If it weren’t for the Saudis Lucid would already be out of business. Also, the build quality on the few Lucid has produced is not that great.

the electric cars are without a doubt way faster...... BUT, there's no soul, no sound, no feeling of excitement. I'd rather have the new ZO6 and be a little slower but get a hard on every time I drive it lol
