Thank you. I've been looking for this type of review of Koa for a while.

This one sounds awesome! Today I had the pleasue of playing A 722e myself in a store. There, I also played a GT model, of which I liked the feel in my hands. To your knowledge, what are the chances of a koa GT711e anytime soon?! :) Thx!

I've had 3 Taylors. I find their sound sterile and without character. Guilds or Martins suit me better. Speaking of Martin guitars, why doesn't Thomann sell them anymore?

Taylors are kind of workhorses, you never really develop an emotional relationship with them, although they’re well made (traded in a 412 for a 512 recently). I find Martins far too “American,” it’s as if they’re designed primarily for American music (most people aren’t American, obviously!). Guilds are cool (got an ancient F30). Martin and Guild are so conservative in their choices of wood, though. Still, I’ll need to look at these new koa 700’s (sometime!)…

@@roderickmathison5245 awfully expensive workhorses. I really wouldn't want to take a 700~800 series onto the stage, would you? Their price is, imo, out of line, given how much of Taylor's plants are automated. The Martin sound (I have 3 of those, 2 bought at Thomann, which is why I wonder why they're not stocked anymore) is exactly the sound I love, and my Guild F40 does a drop d to die for. I've tried Gibsons. Everyone I've tried sounded like it had a blanket stuffed into it. It's all a matter of taste. The traditional tonewoods are traditional for a reason. I don't care how exotic the back and sides look because I don't see them when I'm playing.

@@PreacherAtArrakeen I do agree, they are expensive. I don’t connect with Gibsons, either. If Martin ever make anything with a cedar top, I’ll buy one!

@@roderickmathison5245 "you never really develop an emotional relationship with them" - Speak for yourself! My love affair with Taylor guitars started when I played a 700 series and a koa series back in 2004, I'll never forget that day. I used to travel around, playing everything, in every guitar shop I could find, and it's always been Taylor guitars for me. Own two, love them with all my heart, and in fact, my lowly 2006 114 is the instrument that really unlocked the guitar for me, it made me understand music and it still feels like IT'S playing me sometimes.
