    Honestly, these four guys are some of my biggest heroes! The dedication to music, to musicians, to the planet, and the integrity with which they do what they do... And to do it with such joy, and fun, and humility, and love! I'm so inspired by them and what they've created in the world, and when I pick up my guitars everyday I feel like I'm a part of it - and that is just so cool. 💗

    This was such an inspiring episode of Taylor Prime Time. Bob and Kurt, you really have done this right in preserving the vision and goals of the company and choosing Andy to continue to run the company in the same spirit that it was founded while at the same time giving yourselves the opportunity to continue coaching and advising. That will keep me focused on the evolution of Taylor Guitars and maybe buying more of them.

    Love the news and this historical episode! Congratulations to Andy and Taylor Guitars! I am one of those people who loves his 714ce and I’m so glad to have it along with my 614ce, Taylor Standard electric, GS Mini, and GS Mini Mahogany bass! My 714 is my favorite “all ‘round” acoustic in terms of sound.

    I own 3 Taylor Guitars, its been a love affair triumverate for my hands, heart, and ears. The Taylor company leadership has successfully captained towards new shores and a new era of musicians will no doubt continue to receive thrills and chills when they purchase their fine instruments. Love supporting the ESOP employee/owner business model and Taylor's environmentally conscuous stewardship and forest sustainability practices are highly commendable. Congrats gentlemen! Look forward to playing the new 700 KOA series.

    About the time Andy came to Taylor I owned several older Taylor guitars. I still have two of them, but the other 13 have Andy’s influences all over them and they have gotten better and better (over time, both how they have aged and the design changes).

    I’m a little torn though on the v class? I have a v braced Taylor 324ce and it sounds nice but I also have a Martin HD28 scalloped x brace forward shifted and it really blows all my Taylor’s away and I love Taylor. I think Taylor should make some x braced scalloped guitars. I’m just not sure going all V brace is the answer. Thoughts?

    I purchased the new 724ce yesterday, and all I can say is OMG! This guitar has the most unique tone of any guitar that I have ever played. Every note rings with clarity and the most sustain that I have ever experienced in an acoustic guitar. I can’t walk by it without picking it up. I have owned many Taylor guitars including koa guitars, but none like this one!

    I'm trying to be honest and constructive, but the introduction of Koa for this kind of guitar (and its public) raises some doubts. Rembering the purchase of my acoustic: sitting in an isolated cabin of a guitar shop, moved and blown away by what I heard. That's what motivated me. I suspect that if the guitar doesn't sound that good at the very moment and the salesman says: "It has to ripen, be patient", less people will be willing to spend a few thousand dollars. It's hard to describe sound in words, but what I'm hearing here is very different from what some current 700 series guitars offer who will sadly disappear. Selling instruments is not the same thing as fashion where things change every season. Eg a Hermann Hauser classical guitar ( created in 1937 ) remains an amazing and much coveted instrument. Time will tell.

    Jay, thanks for posting this, and you can use "Metal Fatigue" since I'm sticking with our group name from Sitka, the "Glacial Erratics." With a 722 or 724, would there be a discount to add a GS Mini Koa? Thanks, and congratulations to Andy, Kurt and Bob! Best of futures to all. Enjoyed that last tune, Andy, and since it reminded me of Jeff Peterson, I'll be playing his CDs on the way to school for Aloha shirt Friday. "Paniolo Soul" is definitely on the playlist! 👏👏👏

    Do only builders editions now have the classic slim Taylor neck with rolled fingerboard edges? I bought a 2018 614ce and it was chunkier that previous Taylors I owned.

    I have a Taylor 324ce brand new pretty much. I’ve had it 6 months but not a scratch even on the pick guard. 2299 in the stores what would you think I could sell it for now basically in new condition considering inflation and the economy. It’s just a beautiful guitar but I think I just prefer spruce top guitars as opposed mahogany. So I want to sell it for 2000 since I paid 2200 and it’s basically but like my Taylor’s with spruce and my Martin HD28 just are so amazing that I don’t need another guitar to just sit in the case when someone else can jam. I do need to replace it though because I need a guitar with a pickup I can use with my amp. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!!

  • @ia5662
    @ia56622 жыл бұрын

    congrats to Andy, I think the best direction Taylor could go is improving pickups and stop trying to reinvent them. Going back to Fishman would be a great move, or even better - partner with L.R. Baggs. Their new pickups are industry standard now - every live performer I see is using Baggs gear. Every time I put a capo on my Taylor with ES-2 there is a tinny overtone and terrible treble no matter how far back or forward I adjust the set screws for the individual contacts for the piezo. ES-1 is WAY too neck-centric and murky. You get no attack from the bridge - your players are overwhelmingly plugging in - FIX THE PICKUPS!

    I am a great fan of Taylor guitars’. But I am being pretty much disappointed now. As from July 1 this year the prices of Taylor guitars in Japan will jump up. For example prices of 916ce and K14ce BE will be increased by as much as 50%. Their prices were increased by 25% only in May, and again, further 50% this time. It is too much. Increase of material prices and various costs as well as change in exchange rate is understood. But if consumers are forced to pay all these, it cannot be tolerated. I would request a proper remedy for this. Thank you.
