Yeah, Greg can be a "bad influence" (said with love), but I adore Andy's "inside the box" playing so much more. I'd love to hear Andy in a solid acoustic band. He's the real deal.

A demonstration of using the WHOLE of the fretboard, (even without a cutaway) Greg pulling those gorgeous bass notes where so many stay up around the top end. A masterclass of improvisation with two guitars.

I found it odd that he aimed the design to sound like the guitar on the record without all the “stuff” added, and yet they’re both plugged into amps with “stuff” added. These are actually very good guitars. I tried them both and I’d describe them as the usual Taylor tone with some extra low end. They are great sounding guitars when they are amplified and I’d recommend either to someone taking a stage. To my ears though, the guitar that sounds like the record without a cable involved is still the D-18. YMMV

Bought one of the first 517e's from Sweetwater, this is a guitar that you can not put down! The Dreadnought has been reinvented and you have to play it to believe it! This is the only time I have ever paid full price for a guitar and I'm just fine with that!!!

tobortine they are both digging in a lot, which is too bad because played lightly, my 717 is a very lyrical guitar. the action is so low that you do get a muddy sound if you dig in. otherwise, sublime.
