It is not a type of car that you just buy and drive. You would either need a team of mechanics round the clock or be a mechanic youself to keep it running :). however it is very simple repairable in the field, with the simplest tools, parts are cheap and widely available anywhere in post-USSR.

@@VolodymyrMetlyakov yeah I am a mechanic lol. They don’t sell uaz here but one of my coworkers is from former Yugoslavia. He said he used to have a uaz 469.

@@VolodymyrMetlyakov Югославия не была просоветской. Она не входила в Варшавский договор и в СЭВ. Тито после ссоры со Сталиным в конце 40-х годов создал свой вариант социализма, балансируя на противоречиях двух мировых систем и получая с этого неплохие дивиденты. Поэтому-то там было много чего советского. УАЗы были там в качестве армейских авто и ценились именно за конструктивную простоту, проходимость и дешевизну.

Are UAZs still widely available and inexpensive? They look like a great time! Is there an aftermarket for lockers and other parts?

They offer great experience in driving !! All kind of experiences ! In a uaz you are everything: a driver, a mechanic and an expert in offroad !! :)

old, second hand Uaz is inexpensive and there is a lot aftermarket parts for them

Just one little disadvantage ( you will spend a whole of your life under it(or will hire a tons of mechanics) it is not a car, it is a life style (remember it was created at 50/60) niva does not take that much time, but beeter to buy with disil

everything could be fixed by simple handtools but you will spent your majority of time under the car

I really like your content and no offense but that Jimny driver seems not as experienced as other guys. Jumping in the middle of a swamp just because he got a brand new 4x4 :) Also Niva is impressive I have to admit.

Those cars are totally unreliable. You can easily skip off-road ride because car just won't start. Most of details are made from shit and won't last long...

@@dimseza1541 this is true in case you don't want to go anywhere far from that house. UAZ is that king of car that can bring you literally anywhere without any comfort. But also it can break anytime and the you'll stuck with piece of garbage in the middle of nowhere. I'll better go for japanese car. Suzuki, Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi. Especially if it's AWD plug-in hybrid.

The front axle didn't roll because the sistem which connect it was of poor quality and we changed them right there. Good thing he had new ones with him))

W Rosji Niva jest 3,5 razy tansza niz Suzuki. Jakosc japonskiego samochodu jest wyzsza, ale zgodnie z ogolnym parametrem „CENA-JAKOSC-WYDAJNOSC - itd itp” Niva jest znacznie lepsza!

Всё равно Джимни лучше)
