New Sire Marcus Miller Basses! (V7 and V5)
Музыка
The New Sire Marcus Miller Basses, the V7 and V5, have gotten a lot of attention. Dan Veall tells you why!
Marcus Miller is well known for his style and signature bass tone helped no less by his custom signature bass line made by Fender back in 1998. In an exciting collaboration sealed back in 2015, Sire USA and top session ace Marcus Miller designed the first V series basses with a shared vision and love for music and musical instruments.
Quoting the Sire website, "...the brand is forever honoured to have Marcus Miller on their team …. and seeing the potential in every individual by providing quality and accessible tools, in the form of Sire's guitars, is the foundation of Sire's relationship with Miller."

For me, he's the best in the biz. I love working with him!
Love my V5-24 fret too!!
They're nicely designed bass guitars with awesome tones , a lot of people complain about the design of the headstock but I personally don't have an issue with them they're fine to me

I bought the Sire S3. Before I bought it ordering it from Sweetwater i thought theheadstock looked oversized and gaudy. When it arrived The headstock did not look oversized. I am fine with it.
Sounds very nice
I have 4 Sire basses, P8,M2,U5 and a V5-24 and I have to say I really enjoy my V5-24 the most. something about the feel and balance of it. I personally like the passive basses more than my active basses, I think the simplicity of it and they have great sound without a pre-amp. when I'm feeling fatigued then I grab my U5 short scale. the Necks on Sire basses are fantastic, Sire make great instruments.
After 45 years as a FOH sound engineer I hope for two things with bass guitars. #1 A very deep fat bass response especially in the 40 and 60Hz frequencies. #2 Uniformally equal decibel levels on every single notes on the neck. Too many times I have mixed inferior bass guitars that forced me to apply heavy compression and voicing with an EQ. The Sire delivers outstanding performance that rivals $5,000 cutom built basses I have mixed. Even the $400 Sire bass sounds incredible.

Thanks for watching and most of all commenting!!!
Apparently this is Jim Bryan’s bass of choice
Are the pickups humcancelling when used separately (just like for example DiMarzio ultra jazz pickups)?

Hi johnsausage! Thank you for checking out the video! :) The Dimarzio Ultra Jazz pickups have two separate coils, one for each pair of strings (as you may know already) that allows them to be configured (like a split coil) as hum-cancelling. The Sire basses literature I have notes these signature formvar pickup sets are single coils, so no hum-cancelling. That said, whilst shooting and demonstrating the solo'd positions I didn't notice any undue noise. Hope this helps!! Cheers again! Dan.

@@johnsausage Any time!! :)
Interesting. When the bass was on its back there were five holes for the bridge but it’s a four-string.
...what a pity that does not exist a V5 with the same color/finish patterns of the V7 (fretboard non roasted etc)...
Does the sticker come off?

Ha ha ha! Yes, as does the protective film on the pick guard, but I left them on as the basses are on loan and need to go back to a shop! :)
Funny 2x speed on this video sounds normal
