OMG! NEW rear rollers!!! 🔥
If you've been waiting for one of the final pieces of the puzzle to hit the Scott Bonnar 45 restoration market, wait no longer: Shane Kosteszyn from Moteck Machining and Cylinder Mowers has you covered.
Shane's CNC-machined billet steel rear roller halves are exceptionally special products.
The rollers are constructed of two parts: the main drum and the end cap. The end caps are shown disassembled in the video but come welded in place with a pilot reamed brass bushing installed. New ratchet boxes and pawl holders are not yet available but are on the way. These rear rollers will, however, accept you existing ratchet boxes.
Shane's rollers are 2kg heavier than the originals for better handling and stripes. They also feature three additional, threaded holes for installing your ratchet boxes--allowing you to index the ratchet box to a spare set of holes if the first set strips out.
MMCM currently has 17" rollers halves ready to go with 20", 20" triple rollers, and 14" rollers on the way.
An option for a smaller diameter roller will also soon be available with these products intended for vulcanising (in which case the vulcanised roller diameter would match the diameter of the original rollers, making for a better angle of attack and lessening the likelihood of frame clearance issues).

About me and this channel: I'm Michael, a homeowner and aspiring lawn addict. I make these videos to share as much as I can, as best I can, from my recent experience rebuilding two Scott Bonnar 45 mowers. Although I'm a passionate wood worker and ex-IT guy, I have zero mechanical training. I'm no expert on these subjects but I learn by sharing and it encourages me to grow a better lawn and build a better mower if I know you're watching!

Shane answers: "They’ll rust just the same as the cast steel ones do. Prime then paint as per any other component or powdercoat. If painting then brush primer on the inside or treat with a product called Tectyle"
