New Range Rover review. Comparing the new Range Rover to my 2021 Range Rover P400e PHEV
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The new 2022 Range Rover has finally arrived and in this video I compare the new model to my 2021 Range Rover 400e PHEV.
What are the key differences between the two of them, how have I got on running a PHEV Range Rover and after running 9 Range Rovers over the past 30 years, am I tempted to buy the new one?

Bigger diameter wheels are better off road than smaller wheels. It’s why my Dakar bikes have 21” front wheels and the Landrover Series One had 15” wheels. It’s low profile tyres that are bad off-road, not big diameter wheels.

@@harrysgarage True of course, but you can't have it all and I don't see many aftermarket kits in the future to jack it up and circumvent all the electronics. It might be good at the kind of offroading the original was invented for, your kind of use, but I don't see it getting adopted by overlanders. The 23s might see a bit of dirt road here and there, but it'll crawl more curbs than rocks.

Great review as usual ... some of the comparisons surprising. Very enjoyable
I’ve owned two post 2010 Range Rovers and after owning a Toyota Land Cruiser, I don’t think that I could ever own another Land Rover product. A super snapshot of Range Rover history, another great video Harry.
Outstanding review and comparison. Quite useful.
Splendid evaluation on the new Range Rover Harry! And particularly enjoyed your summary across many generations of full-size Range Rover. I’m actually on my third 322 having purchased each one second hand. I can appreciate your high rating on this particular model. It was difficult selling my 2011 supercharged but I couldn’t pass up a 2006 Supercharged last year with only 28,000 original miles. That is now my primary car that I should be able to drive for the next decade or more. By then the new model now should become much more affordable so I can skip over last years highbred altogether. Though the technology is there along with its superior off-road capabilities, range rover seems to be slipping away from any sort of rugged look whatsoever. At 63 I guess I’m just old school.
I have absolutely no desire for, or interest in vehicles like this but it was worth watching this video to learn that Harry once owned a Honda Insight.

Thoroughly enjoyed your video, as always very informative. Particularly like the bonus material on your Range Rover Classic and L322. Also agree on your view about the newer ones looking more urban Vs country.

Great information thank you. I keep a 4.6 HSE P38 in the UK as a hobby car. It is the only car I have owned that I enjoy driving long distances in. I find the P38 interesting because it pioneered quite a few of what are now everyday features on cars. That said it takes a lot of different skill sets to keep it running, but spare parts are really cheap. I have driven the P38 diesel and it wasn't a patch on the V8.

How do they get a petrol V8 pass the EU WLTP fleet emissions requirements? Is the petrol V8 within the 95 g CO2/km fleet average required in 2021? One worries that EU WLTP rules give too many breaks to large vehicles, while being overly punitive against economy vehicles. The old Range Rover Sport is 324 g CO2/km on the combined cycle which is extremely poor, even compared to other 5.0L V8 vehicles (usually in the low 200 range).
@Tracertme

@@TassieLorenzo Given the mileage most private people do all this co2 stuff is just nonsense there are many bigger pollutants than 🚘 cars. Given they are no longer in the EU I guess they might not be worried about losing sales their versus Uk China and the USA markets. I don’t know… most of the climate change lobby is motivated by individual groups who can make a profit from it so there is masses of misinformation and most people just suck it up. We are already watching the energy utility companies collapsing in front of our eyes while they try to meet targets set by bureaucrats who don’t know anything about the topics they are legislating.
