This was a fair review however after driving many cars 4x more expensive I have ordered the Trophy DCT as quality value for money,drive and looks cannot be touched by any rivals for this price.The amount of kit is very very impressive and the 7 year warranty also gives some piece of mind, with the MG cars presently available and those in the pipeline I can see the MG brand becoming a mainstream brand very soon.

We're hoping to go with the Skoda Enyaq EV but if we can't for whatever reason, an option was the Kuga. But then I saw the new HS. I didn't like the styling on the old one but this is quite a bit neater. Currently have a Karoq, so it was a bit funny to hear him compare it with that car and the Kuga. There is a car size comparison website and, going by that, the HS isn't actually that far off a Kuga in size.

Hello, how is the sound of the parking sensors? Still stuck with no option to mute or turn them off?

This feels like a review with a personal vendetta. You are being far too harsh and overly picky. I've literally just test drove and inspected 2 of these, inside and out. Excellent car for the price range. Stop comparing it with cars which are £££ more expensive!

Totally agree....the MG HS is a great spacious family car which can "comfortably" sit 3 full grown adults in the back ..I was given the HS last year as a courtesy car as my car was in the garage for repairs for a few weeks ...I found the 1.5 very good on fuel and really pleasant to drive ..for a car of its size it handled smaller roads really well and very smooth...the one niggle I did have with it was I found the infotainment system a tad glitchy but on saying that it was a courtesy car and for being only 2 yrs old it had over one hundred thousand miles on it but it still performed fantasticly apart from that....I also felt that this " reviewer has a grudge against MG for some reason ..he was being pretty harsh on a decent liberally priced well worth the money car for no reason...not everyone can go out and buy an Audi or a BMW

I didn't see any bias. It's exactly what you expect it to be. If you know other brands with an unbiased view it's fair to say what he says. He also says similarly priced rivals are 6k more. What's this, the fan forum?

i like it, it definately has more than a hint of a Merc GLC about it

MG great cars but if you get a problem like a 12 volt battery going flat told by dealer unable to check the car for three weeks so stuck at home with no car not good enough

I own this vehicle in silver (the best colour in my option) automatic trophy. It's an amazing car! Mpg isn't the best but if you drive in eco it's better. Couldnt have asked for more for the money.

@@ayoub5181 as obviously it's a heavy car the break's are not super super sharp but they are decent in my eyes. Worth giving it a test-drive again 👍 They have fixed a lot of issues from the old model.

I think this car is alot of car for the money based on reviews I've seen, I'd go for cosmic silver with red leather interior in auto trophy spec, this is top of list for next car in a few years, currently have a diesel jeep renegade limited in black colour had it about 4 months, great car an very economical but it's a 2018 plate an I have hire purchase 5 year agreement so by time cars paid it be near 11 years old, thinking after 3 year trade in for an mg hs that maybe only 1 or 2 years old 👍 great looking car an facelift looks great 👌👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hired one last week, it was okay on electric but garbage on the motorway. I got 38 mpg, rubbish compared to my diesel Passat, which does 62 mpg. There is also a huge obstruction to the view through the windscreen with the big sensor and mirror - I think my car would fail its MOT with so bad an obstruction to forward vision. Very poor heating and ventilation too, the car was cold and the windows misted up even with the AC on and the heat turned up to 25c.

Did you notice if any of the USBs' are powered 24/7 or only with the ignition on? Please and thanks.

Hi. USB ports in the front of the vehicle are only powered when the ignition is on. There are two rear ports at the back of the center console so I’m not sure if they work without ignition on or off as I have not used them. Hope that helps.

I just picked up my new MG HS TROPHY now 5 days old , but on tube it shows same car but it shows panoramic sunroof sunroof plus Badges on the front Grille plus on back rear windows plus one on dashboard all saying TROPHY? I did àsk the sales person why on on my brand new and had to wait 6 weeks for delivery, and anyone explain please? AN

The online brochure states that the SE model has leather STYLE interior in black. The Trophy model has LEATHER interior in black, for an extra £500 you can have a red and black interior but it states once again that it is only leather STYLE. That word STYLE is confusing . One dealer told me that the Trophy model has a REAL leather interior. Two other dealers have stated that the Trophy has a Pleather / leather STYLE interior . Does the Trophy with black only interior really have a real Leather or just Pleather / leather style ?

Black is actual leather. Red optional interior is pleather.

Mg hs nice car but they could of done better options, like a diesel engine choice in 1.6 or 2.0 diesel, they could of gave us more interior colour options like brown, white or blue or green leather and a better exterior colour choice would be nice, maybe some brighter eye catching colours, lime green, orange, matt grey, matt purple, solar yellow and a choice of black roof and mirrors like a black pack and maybe a choice of wheel size and style from 18 ,19 or 20. If they gave us these options they would be selling really fast an would attract alot of different buyers too

What EURO emissions class is this car? Is it EURO 6d?

My facelift HS Trophy was ordered early August and should be here late December. How are you getting yours so quickly?

We have MG 22 top range. We do not have proper DAB. As the chip for this was not available. We have to tune in every station as there is no memory for keeping radio stations. It becomes very annoying and dangerous, if you need to change stations. Very poor and there is no sight of one being made available. If you still listen to radio. Think bout this car before you buy. Our dealer has just down.

Combined 36mpg for the 1.5 150bhp petrol, nope don’t think I’ll be considering this, the Renault Austral is 60mpg

Is this the self drive model that had to be stopped by a Police van.....not self drive by the way, the drive by wire system failed leaving the driver unable to stop the vehicle. Nice

The new rowe is coming to the uk soon badged as mg…. Quashqi looking and rave reviews wait a year uk or just buy a Honda for much better quality all around.

I’ve had mine for about 3 months now, while it’s a good car, with some features for the price, it’s down falls are now really annoying me. Really slow infotainment system, android auto takes ages to start, no front parking sensors, the power boot if you’re over 5’10 you’ll bang your head, no auto lights when it’s raining and no really DAB radio. So it’s ok but I’m ready for something better.

I am 5'.10" had no problems with height of tailgate and it does have DAB radio that is the 73 plate facelift HS Trophy. You can also adjust the power tailgate height.

horrid cars had 3 in one month both had loads faults now on 3rd mg hs and first fault has started on 3rd on lol

MG is litteraly taking the piss of british customers with the Trophy petrol only, top specs options.... No 2L engines available, no auto-sunroof, no fog lights, no other colors for interior (only black & red). Honestly..... Good value for money, but is Rubbish in compare to same Trophy from Asia or other countries..... Also the so called infotainment system is trash! If MG didn't ad one at all and allow customers to attach their own tablet (ex: Samsung Galaxy S8 Ultra) would have been amazing! But nooo, MG needs to do what China and british government wants now.... Very very dissapinted......

I had one as a hire car in Tasmania & it was a shocker. Absolutely rubbish car. 20,000km on the clock it was only 16 or so months old & was falling apart , despite not being flogged . One of the worst cars I've driven. Chinese cars are built To a price, & it shows . Uninspiring & better left alone

How are you still in business? You only get a few thousand views for your reviews

It's just a project to keep ICE factories in China occupied with something to produce. There's a reason why there is always inventory and you don't have to wait to buy one.

It's not a lie (and Feb is nothing for the industry btw). As of 2022, SAIC had a total production capacity of 7.25 million vehicles a year but only produced 5.3 million. That's nearly 2 million units of idle capacity. No wonder they are making every effort to dump on the European markets. In fact they're investing in their own ocean vehicle carriers due to the shipping bottlenecks in moving vast volumes of cars from China to Europe.

IT WILL SAVE THOUSANDS OF WESTERN JOBS IF YOU DONT BUY IT.

MG was a good quality car manufactured in the UK and its' good name is being used to promote it.. The parent company that owns this car is Chinese based and I believe it is manufactured in China too...This plagiarism is doing the UK manufacturing no good at all...Level playing field.

A pointless and compromised vehicle as are most of these fake SUVs.
