Wonderful to see this tiny bull swimming with such confidence with his herd. I am still thrilled that Setombe decided to become his new Mama. He seemed to trigger something in her, perhaps simply the desire to care for a baby again. She clearly adores her son and he loves his mama. He has settled in so well, you could be forgiven for thinking he was born into this unique family. He has a great relationship with the superb Carers too, as do all the Elephants. There is great mutual love and respect at HERD. Thank you all for your hard work in caring for our "Elephant family"; each one special and loved 💚🐘💚🙏🙏

Phabeni is a total water baby! He has totally accepted Setombe as his Mom! As independent as he is, I expected him to act a bit freer like Khanyisa did, but nope! He's Momma's boy..🥰🐘🐘🐘🥰

Little Khanyisa seems to becoming calmer, intrigued, more interested and is probably going to takeover the big sister role!

Do not be fooled by our precious princess's public performances, her Pinkness only behaves until she thinks nobody is watching, then she does sneeky back-kicks at him. She stands almost on top of him at bottle time because she wants one too.....but she is already being weaned slowly off botttles, so she only gets them 1/2 as many times per day as Phabeni.

This little bull Phabeni 🐘 is so confident swimming in the dam. Setombe 🐘 is being such a great adoptive mama. As soon as Setombe 🐘 and Phabeni 🐘 leave the water Khaynisa 🐘 is following them. Khaynisa 🐘 has really surprised me. She is going to be a great sister to little Phabeni 🐘. Lundi 🐘 is chasing the buffalo 🐃 away from the HERD 🐘 keeping Phabeni 🐘 and the rest of the HERD 🐘 safe. I could watch Phabeni 🐘 and Khaynisa 🐘 swimming all day long. What a wonderful family Phabeni 🐘 has. He has a second chance at life.❤️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘❤️

I love seeing the little submarines(Khynasia and Phaebini) having such a good time. He loves his momma, sisters and all his aunts and uncles. He has settled in as though he was born at HERD. I'm so happy for him. I hope somewhere out in the plains of Africa and through the elephant network,I hope his biological momma knows he's thriving. 🐘❤️🐘❤️🐘❤️🐘❤️

I had no idea that was Khanyisa rolling around in the water, until I saw the pink ears. Little beanie is adorable and I didn’t see him, until he popped his little head up out of the water.

Lundi is magnificent protecting her Herd. Setombe instinctively knows where her boy is, and me! Watchung a beautiful family wishing i was there. Much love to all especially Phabeni and Fishan

He's a good little swimmer, safe in the protection of his herd and wonderful carers. How joyful

I think Setombe sensed my panic and decided to guide our new baby boy out the deeper water. I was terrified she wouldn't know he was there but she's a wonderful adoptive mom. And our little "sunshine" was once that small, look how she's growing. Khanyisa is a big sister now.

At first glance, I thought it WAS Phabeni, and then realized I was actually looking at Khanyisa…because I then spotted Phabeni and thought “oh my goodness, how TINY he is!” 😂

Look at that little rascal...wades right in. My goodness, he is so tiny....just amazing. I see he is being watched at evey step. So funny to watch him disappear in the deep water. What must he think of all this? So precious...walking under the big elephants. Like a little pool inflatable bobbing around. I think he is a water baby with our lovely girl Khanyisa. 🥰

Phabeni looks so tiny. They watch over him, I knew they would.

I remember watching baby girl swimming for the first time and how joyful she was in the water. A little nerve wracking at first for this grandma but the big elephants took good care of her just as they take care of their new baby. Thank you Herd for sharing all the joy.

I remember too. She was so hurt and had healed but I still worried. Phabeni seems so agile!

Phabeni has a family. ❤ His new mem, Setombe, so proud and protective, wee Seuntjie follows her, and his littlest “big” sister, Sunshine Khanyisa, follows him. 💋💋💋🫶

He’s so cute and I love watching the whole herd. I remember when Khanyisa took her first swim.❤🐘

Goodness, my heart was in my throat watching him go under water like that. It helped to have the comment that he was in the best hands with Setombe.

Have no fear Kristin. Setombe is a helicopter mom and will take excellent care of him like she did with her daughter Klaserie. I do have to say though that when he's underwater like that, I hold my breath too!

Phabeni is quite the swimmer for such a little fellow! I was worried that Setombe would step on him, but she was so careful to be sure he was ok! Just amazing! I love your videos and The Herd......and Adine and all the wonderful Carers.

Khanyisha has always been the water baby. Still miss her antics. She was the funny one . Happy that she's happy in her herd. She stole our hearts for sure ,Phabeni is adorable we love him too.

I’ve noticed that too. In the last few videos, Khanyisa has been pretty close to Phabeni. Which you don’t see of Timisa. Khanyisa seems really smitten with her new brother. She’s going to make a very loving mother one day.

Amazing how far this precious baby has come. It broke my heart to see him in the condition he was in when arriving to the wonderful carers. I wonder if the herd smells Aldine and all the carers on the newcomers and that’s why they accept them. Looking at this video you’d think they were all from one family all along. We need to keep donating to help the work this organisation does.

It amazes me what wonderful swimmers these guys are. It scares me a bit to see the little ones go under water.

What an unexpected surprise with the arrival of Phabeni. He joined the herd sooner than khanyisa. We should realize the joy of a new birth is not only human joy.

I think Phabeni & Setombe are alike in ways. He's rather aloof and independent towards humans, and Setombe due to perhaps truma has always shy away from humans. Both want total automony. I don't blame them. Klasserie is a mirror of Setombe, and will be by her Mom's side always, . and I have a feeling Phabeni will be very close to her in adulthood as well. It's very endearing to see how khanysia wants to share in Phabeni. She definitely is gentle and sweet towards him. Khanysia is loved by all, and especially Adine. I hope she realizes that. Sebakwe, Bubi and khanysia have accepted him totally as Setombe's son. It's heartwarmingto see all these elephants healthy, free from human enslavement or abuse/killings and allowed to be natural in their own environment.

It was very nice to watch the elephants and buffaloes alongside as well. When seeing the jeep, overall this kind of reminds me of a Jurassic park with only giant herbivores.
