Hey nice review, I watched your unboxing as well. I have a doubt regarding the USB ports. If I connect my MacBook Air M1 with HDMI using a USB C to HDMI converter, Can I still connect my wired keyboard from the back of the monitor (using the USB port of the monitor)? If not how will I use those USB ports? Also, will I be able to use a webcam with that USB port?

Only half way through this review and I've already clicked *Like* Fantastic review! You speak so calmly which is distracting other reviews. I understand people being excited, but I don't need a used car salesman pitch, I just need the facts. I was glad you mentioned video editing as that is what I'm looking to do on whatever monitor I buy. DaVinci Resolve on a PC (Ryzen 5950x)

Sorry for the late response, thanks for watching! As for your question, no, I doubt that would work since the legs for the stand would prevent the two monitors from being flush with each other. One would be substantially further forward than the other. Hope this helps!

Your two videos about the ultrawide monitor are so helpful. I was almost getting a curved one, but I think I will actually have to try it in a store. I am pretty sure I will have a headache as well with a curved one. But, I am still worried because I usually sit pretty close to my 24inch monitor and will have to sit pretty close to 34inch one as well.

Hi, thanks for watching! No, from my viewing position I haven't noticed any blurriness with mine. I've been doing a ton of coding on it, as well as music production/video editing, and it's been comfortable. And yes, supports MacBook Pro right out of the box!

Thanks for the review. How's the movie watching experience? Is HDR good on this? Any idea what the max brightness is on it? Like did you by any chance measure it?

Swaroop Mallegari Hi, thanks for watching! HDR looks great. Just make sure you choose the correct picture mode/settings. It also gets plenty bright for me! Did a few 4k HDR video tests on KZread and it's definitely very enjoyable. Just note that Netflix currently doesn't support HDR or 4K on Mac (if you're using that). There are rumors that it may be an addition with MacOS Big Sir. In the meantime, you should be fine if you use another device connected to it. Hope that helps!

I used the 34" curved ultrawide monitor for the first time recently, and the curve didn't bother me at all. Because the monitor is so wide, it just gives you that extra bit of viewing capability at the far end without having to move your head. Some people are more sensitive to curved screens than others (some even feel physical ill in extreme circumstances, similar to using a VR headset), so it really comes down to that.

Does the monitor stand support portrait mode? How far can you adjust the height? Also what is the refresh rate on this monitor? How heavy is this monitor and is it VESA mount compatible? I can't believe they don't have this info on their site. Thanks in advance!

Sorry for the late response! Didn't get the message for some reason. Unfortunately, the stand doesn't support portrait mode, so you'd need a VESA stand that supports that. And yes! it's VESA compatible (100x100mm) You can adjust the height about 5in. Measured from the desk to the center of the monitor that's about 11in to 16in. Doesn't sound like much on paper, but it's really enough for me and I feel like it'll be enough for most people. It also tilts to about a 45 degree angle outwards, and about 15-20 degrees or so inwards. On their site it lists the refresh rate as 75hz and weight (without stand) as 15.2 lbs. Hope this helps. Sorry for the late reply! Thanks for watching! Markun is correct: there is no internal webcam nor is the monitor a touch screen monitor. Most external monitors do not have those features at this price point, without a compromise somewhere. I think you'd be better off getting an external webcam and maybe a trackpad if you wanted touch-like user input.

Which one is better for logic pro? 34 ultrawide? Dual 27 inch qhd monitors? Or a single 4k 27 inch? Thanks for your video

Thanks for watching! I'd go with the 34in for logic - having a full view into the entire session timeline is nice and I never feel the need for two separate screens when producing. I just use a hotkey to pop up the mix window temporarily if I need (or use the single channel on the side for the selected track).

Have you ever considered the LG 34WN80C-B model? Or is the one you are referring to around 6 minutes?

Yup! That's the one I ended up returning. The curve was a bit too disorienting for me unfortunately. Still a good monitor though!

I'm a developer, and I've just bought this monitor on Amazon for programming. I'm not happy because I can see well only the middle part of the screen. I see the left and right side of the monitor that fade out, they are not sharp. I need to move my head to see well the sides of the monitor. It's like a problem of angle of vision. For instance, I struggle in seeing scrollbars. Does it happen also to you? Is my unit faulty? Thank you!!

Maurizio Faleo Thanks for watching! Hmm, no I can't say I've noticed that. Especially not fading out on the sides. However in my setup the monitor is elevated so the center is a tad above eye level, and it's about 1.5-2ft away from my eyes, depending on how close my chair is from my desk. On my unit, text is clear even to the edges and I definitely don't have issues seeing scrollbars. I've done a bit of HTML/CSS stuff in Visual Studio Code and haven't noticed any text issues. To double check the issues you mentioned, I leaned in to about 10-12in away from the monitor and still don't see the issue you you're having. Does the issue get better or worse depending on what you background color is? (Ex. white vs grey vs black). Also, how much ambient lighting is there in the room?

Great video. I want a large monitor. Thank you for this explaining. Is the 34" ok or a better or larger screen or is it worth it? I use Logic Pro X.

Thanks for watching! This size works well for me, but it depends on how far you sit from the monitor. I used Ableton and PT mainly, but I occasionally open up some Logic sessions. I'm about 2-4 feet away from the screen and it's comfortable

Thanks for watching! It should work well with the Mac Mini! It has HDMI 2.0 out so you can use that to connect the monitor. I'm still really enjoying the monitor overall! Mine had an issue with the display that showed up about 10 months in, but LG fixed it, and it's been working since. I'll probably make another video about it sometime this month where I talk more about everything.

How do I connect Windows laptop and enjoy full resolution of 1440 without USB-C? What's the decide you mentioned to connect to your macbook?

I used the CalDigit TS3+. This monitor actually uses HDMI not USB-C, so you'll be set if your computer has that. Beyond that it has DisplayPort and USB 3.0 for data pass thru.

You mention using a curved monitor before and being disoriented, what kind of curve did you use? for a while there were a lot of more aggressive curves on the market but it seems that most curved monitors lately have gone with the softer curve.

I've been looking at ultrawides and LG has so many different model numbers that it is disorienting in itself, you just made me question the curves.. the wn750 seems like a good option considering that it has freesync and almost none of the newer models have freesync.. It seems like a nice thing to have but I value crisp and good colours more than gaming capabilities but I have to admit that a reason that I didn't pull the trigger on a dell u3419w was because of the lack of freesync but I'm familiar with the quality from dell.

How did you connect it to your mac! Looking at thos model to use with my mac mini m1 but the screen has no usb c! But it has displayport

Hi Do you have fan noise from your MBPro 16 inch using the Caldigit? I have fan noise using this monitor and can only get max 50hz using a dongle adapter

The 16" MBP fans kick on for just about anything really haha, I'm not really sure it's directly related to the Caldigit, I notice the fans on a fair amount even with nothing connected, depending on what I'm doing.

@@koraytugay Ah, okay. I mean it may be a small difference if you're coming from a 4k monitor, but it's definitely sharp for me. I also use it for dev work and no issues in terms of text quality

Yup, it does have picture by picture! You use their Dual Controller software to use it. Haven't tested it myself yet though.
