Just listened to the new single! Outstanding! So glad to hear fingerprints from Firepower in this which was a killer album! I truly believe that Judas Priest is having a full-on renaissance much in part due to Richie Faulkner and Andy Sneap. That is not to take away from the rest of the cast and the songwriting, both of which are exceptional! Rob's voice is amazing! But Richie is bringing fresh vibes to Priest and Andy Sneap is giving their songs a beautiful platform to shine through the production that he is bringing to the table!

Being a die-hard Priest-fan, I kinda have the same feeling when I’m gonna listen to one of their new records as when watching my kids performing in front of an audience. I must admit that Nostradomus and Redeemer felt tired. But then Firepower hit me with a force I could never have predicted. I rank it as one of the best and most suprising metal comebacks of all time, the record can stand shoulder to shoulder with Screaming and Painkiller and feel no shame. Now I’m nervous again. Firepower could have been the perfect closure to ome of the most important metal bands of all time. But I get hope when you say that Panic Attack sounds like Firepower and Painkiller combined - perhaps the best combination I can imagine! Fingers crossed! 🤘🏼

I have to admit that I was bit worried when I heard Rob talk about the album and say the word "progressive" but this video cleared those doubts entirely. I don't know if it was Richie joining the band or who made the decisions but I absolutely love what they have produced after he joined the band. Redeemer of Souls was awesome, Firepower was one of my favorites and I sure think that this will be yet another banger. No way, I grew up reading Kerrang!, that mag helped me much on my journey of discovery about metal! One thing I really wanted to know about the new Priest record, is whether Andy Sneap would be playing any lead breaks on it. He played lead in both Sabbat and Hell, so he is more than capable of adding his own flavour to the mix. Priest's twin axe attack is so essential to their sound, I really hope Andy was allowed to contribute in that department! Your thoughts on "Panic Attack" have me even more pumped up for the track now, thanks Jason!

@@PossessedByMetal666 Yep, I have Kerrang! to thank for putting me onto legends like Annihilator, and Nuclear Assault! 👍 Many of the Priest records with Glenn and K.K. had lead break credits in the album booklet/sleeve, though that hasn't happened since Richie joined. Andy is really underrated as a guitarist, I feel. I think not utilising his playing in the studio would be an unfortunate oversight, especially when twin leads have been such a cornerstone of the Priest sound, pretty much from the beginning. My 3 fave Priest records? I love all their albums to varying degrees (And "Jugulator" is underrated as hell!) but my top 3 would probably be Sad Wings, Stained Class and Screaming For Vengeance. 🎃🎸

I've long since abandoned all hope of Priest ever playing it live with Rob, but I'd love to see K.K and Tim wheeling it out with K.K.'s Priest, that, and "Cathedral Spires"! Yes, I am certain, though funnily enough, my 4th fave Priest album is "Sin After Sin". hehe 🙃 Nope, my top 5 Slayer records are "Hell Awaits", "South Of Heaven", "Show No Mercy", "Reign In Blood", and the highly underrated "Divine Intervention".

I accidentally deleted my post... here it is again lol Now indeed that's a question that would be the toughest that rates with naming my daughters. Top 3... boy!! Being Invincible isn't out yet that narrows it down a bit (lol). #3 for me would have to be Screaming For Vengeance. I was only in the 4th grade when this album hits shelves. But do recall going to K-Mart one day and my eyes fixated on the album cover. Of course my parents had no intention on buying it for me so I ended up using my own allowance to do so (through a friend's mom). Once I had it I honestly looked at it for I don't remember how many hours. It wasn't until my bedtime that I finally broke the wrapper and placed that cassette in my walkman (here I go again showing my "age" (lol). Holy shit!!!! I almost fell out of my bed. Being raised in home of inspirational/country music I was not expecting something like I did that night. I know there was something about that album cover that was hiding something that was going to change my life forever. It was there I ended up having to find more on this band!! #2 is a HUGE toss up thank in part to earlier investigation and searching for the beginnings of where this band came from. Upon investigating for something more about this band comes the finding for very beginning (and no I am talking about Rocka Rolla... lol). Taking Sabbath's beginnings and thrown a complete and intensified energy and attitude with it Sad Wings of Destiny showed me right where the foundation of this band began. Sad Wings showed me where I was I destined to make my own in regards to music of this style. Metal become mine and mine alone in my home. THE #1 Judas Priest recorded was released when I was about to leave for Europe in 1990. Of course I am talking about the face-melting Painkiller!!! Motherf@$!er!!!! There is no question that now being a long time fan of Judas Priest that this album was simply UNBELIEVABLE. Everything on this record was completely devastating as Priest once showed they are to considered some of originators of our loved genre. Especially with Pantera and other notables were released in the same year, Priest made an album that they indeed put out the same type of energy even if they were the veteran band they were. I might also include that while I respect Dave Holland in the earlier albums, Scott Travis is an effin' animal taking the sound of Judas Priest to a whole new level!! There is NO DOUBT others could have been on this TOP 3. But in regards to impact on this die-hard, mercury blooded metalhead life, these records definitely carved the path (along with TONS of bands) in which I still happily on to this very day. Dare anyone say that today's music is where it is?? Priest continues to defy, show and create some of the purest form of metal imaginable... clean, crunchy and completely attitude driven. METAL at its finest!!!

Jason, Great vid mate! I've followed your work from the early days and always trusted your reviews & opinions. I'm a big PRIEST fan & agree that I'm always nervous about each new release to see what they've come up with and to make sure they haven't let me down! Re: Invincible Shield I like the title (although I keep wanting to call it "Invisible Touch" and wonder why they have named it after a sanitary product!) The cover is OK: I like the colouring, I always think that the best Priest covers are the simple ones: Stained Class, Killing Machine, British Steel, SFV, Firepower. I like the colourful ones (why do metal t-shirts always have to be black?!) I like Mark Wilkinson' as an artist but his album covers are a little too messy for me: the only one that really works is Nostradamus as it matches the style of the music. The extra artwork for this one looks interesting too. I agree with you regarding the song titles: I think they should release the name of each track one a day. I'm pleased that "Panic Attack" is good, the love the intro which does sound a bit "proggy" but will obviously lead into something more metal. I think the sound/production is brilliant and the drum sound, on that intro, is really interesting: it reminds me of the drum sound that Les Binks got on that live BBC radio recording from 1978 (which I'm sure you've heard). Anyway, I've subscribed etc and looking forward to future shows from you. Best wishes, Jon

I’m probably not the right person to ask because 90% of the stuff I listen to is Priest. However, I rotate the other 10% between a whole variety of stuff: AC/DC, UFO, Vardis, Extreme, Thin Lizzy, Blue Oyster Cult, Volbeat,Ghost, Angel etc Plus loads of others! Topics you could consider: Priest support bands (I love Bonfire’s Fireworks album) Best live albums Best stage productions Can’t think of any others off the top of my head but will get back to you when they come to me!

its always nice to get anything with Rob singing on it, but they havent sounded like "Judas Priest" for a long time. listening to the newer stuff there really is no trace of the band that put out love bites or you've got another thing coming. then traditional priest style heavy chord based songs have now given way to irona maiden style lead riff song based progressions and the continual use of also the iron maiden style rolling drums on so many tracks as of late. well I guess this is what happens when you have 2 new guitarists writing the bulk of the new stuff.
