    Do you think deploying a a large app via usb-2 (regular iPhone 15) will be slower than usb-3 (iPhone 15 Pro) ?

    I don’t think there will be big difference. From my expierience building of the project takes most of the time. Installation on device should be faster, but my guess is that we are talking about few seconds differnece.

    I will keep my apple watch for now, maybe next year I'll do a update. For the iphone, I'm still in the maybe if a I will upgrade for the iphone 15 pro, now I have the 13 pro max (great battery duration until now, for photos usually I use my camera)...

    If you are using camera for most of the photos, you should be safe to skip this year 🤔

    I have an iPhone 13mini and I love this phone, but I'm amazed about the A17pro chipset, that they have managed to put ray tracing into mobile (now AMD is the third place if it comes to RT). Moreover, standalone PC games port on 15Pro such as new AC, Deathstranding and REV(which need to be streamed to Switch). Not to mention the capability of running ML locally, which I can see in the long term, that you could put your AI app on an iPhone, and won't require a server connection.

    Yep, that A17Pro for sure is dope. I will try hard to do not upgrade from my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I could finally finish Death Stranding game 😅

    You understand ML is just a fancy name how to explain pretty much copy/paste operation. I'm working with Python and chatgpt already years before it went mainstream. And I'm writing models for it even now. My laptop is old Quadra core AMD with integrated Radeon card 1.5g 😂😂😂 You don't need anything powerful at all to do it. In this case probably iPhone 5s can do the job if there was a option. You can develop and put out your virtual assistant and photo basher apps already years ago. It just wasn't mainstream and every second KZread didn't made video about it. That's it

    I don’t really understand if the iPhone 15 has real 2x optical zoom-in or not. Maybe it’s just crop from 48mpx

  • @MUTOgenn

    @MUTOgenn

    I'm pretty sure it's a crop. 48mpx camera makes 24mpx shots in 1x mode and 12mpx shots in 2x mode.

    Hey, Ramūnas! Real optical zoom is possible with a zoom lens like on photo cameras. All the lenses in the iPhone are static or prime lenses. It is just cropping in on a bigger 48 MP sensor, but the pictures are good, and that is not the same as cropping on an older iPhone 13 12 MP.

    Is titanium durable enough to go without a case? I have a 12 Pro and I can't stand the square edges. Been dying to move away from it but the 13 and 14 kept the same irritating form factor. I miss the 11 Pro form factor so much and it had the best green color as well. I could upgrade to the 15 Pro just for the new rounded edges alone. The titanium looks modern and sleek. If it wouldn't scratch or dent easily I'd leave it naked.

    Usually it is screen that brakes. I do not worry about dents about at all and using case to have better grip and protect the screen.

    you will love the ultra battery life, my battery (ultra1) lasts about 2.5 days the double tap feature will be very handy too. its a bit frustrating for us older model users because the double tap (with finger) feature was already available in accessibility options (pretty sure) so this means apple is being apple and nerfing the feature behind a pay wall. thankfully, usually when this happens, the community speaks up, complains, apple listens, and then decides to make the feature publicly available for all users the following year. I guess it's part of their business model to reserve the most premium features and bells and whistles for those ready to pay the premium price tag on year 1. I guess im okay with that *wipes tear* (even tho I now own an ultra watch, m1 MacBook Pro 14" and recently got the 12.9 iPad Pro 6th gen (LOVE IT), yet still I have to miss out on features hahaha.... ohhhhhh Apple. im on iPhone 11pro tho so I'll probably have to upgrade -_- I guess I could buy a 2nd hand 14 on the market but we'll see.. I guess when only buying a new phone every 3-4 years it feels nice to get newest version. but yes, it seems in this market, it becomes more and more about how we 'feel' each year from the purchase. like, the phone is good enough already, so really all we are paying for is the feeling. if we stayed 2 years behind the market we'd still have a fantastic phone, for half the price (buying near new or new 2nd hand). so then really, what benefit are we getting? to have the latest and best tech? but as you say its behind a case usually anyway and no one really checks out your phone like they used to when these things were rare and new. its almost expected that everyone has a good phone nowadays so its not really a flex. I guess at the end of the day, the superior decision method is to try to best match the models that fit your needs based on specs and features and try our best to forget about release date and hype. its one thing to say, but another to do. apple is great at selling the hype train :P good luck and enjoy! im still learning Python and SQL atm and have some assessments coming up, im REALLY enjoying python and I designed a fun little program to help me mentally process the decision, plus to help encode the information I was learning in the unit, and admittedly I used some AI to build this, and I was testing a reverse-method of learning where you start with the answer and then question and try to figure out how you got there. Im leaning towards this not being the best method for learning as there was very little struggle involved so the cognitive load applied during the process was not nearly high enough to induce proper learning. it was more just a fun creative exercise. unfortunately tho, with the way the industry is going, this sort of thing will become more and more prevalent, and discussions about the importance of hard skills, vs creative thinking will become more and more popular. its difficult to figure out what the sweet spot between the two are. I guess all we can do is aim to to have a healthy balance of both. one thing that ive learnt recently (and as a prior perfectionist this is super deep and profound) is that PERFECTION is not PERFECTION, PERFECTION is BALANCE. what this means to me is that its not about getting something perfect its about achieving balance in a design or a theory or an idea. It doesn't have to be perfect it just has to be perfectly balanced. speaking of imperfections (hehe) here's some code that has many innacurices in it. you'll notice the figures it outputs for a lot of options are really inaccurate so it needs a lot of tweaking. BUT, if anyone out there is looking for an alternative method for deciding whether to get a new iPhone or not, feel free to punch this code into chatGPT and ask it to modify the variables for you based on the new iPhone pricing. the code was designed to help clarify the number crunching phase of the decision matrix, to take the hard lifting out of it each time you change your mind and consider a new option you can forcast your potential losses with this; def calculate_depreciation(ipad_type, duration, new_model_released): if ipad_type == "new": base_depreciation_per_year = 600 new_model_depreciation = 200 elif ipad_type == "2nd hand": base_depreciation_per_year = 400 new_model_depreciation = 200 else: # For refurbished base_depreciation_per_year = 700 new_model_depreciation = 100 # Calculate total base depreciation for the duration depreciation = base_depreciation_per_year * duration if new_model_released: depreciation += new_model_depreciation return depreciation def decide_purchase(): # Get user input on the type of iPad type_of_ipad = input("Which type of iPad are you considering? (new/2nd hand/refurbished): ").lower() # Pricing based on the choice if type_of_ipad == 'new': ipad_cost = 1800 elif type_of_ipad == '2nd hand': ipad_cost = 1000 elif type_of_ipad == 'refurbished': ipad_cost = 1400 else: return "Invalid choice." # Get user input on duration of ownership try: duration = float(input("How many years (or fraction of a year) do you intend to own the iPad? ")) except ValueError: return "Please enter a valid number for duration." # Calculate depreciation selling = input("Do you plan to sell the iPad? (yes/no): ").lower() == 'yes' if selling: new_model = input("Do you think a newer model will be out by the time you sell? (yes/no): ").lower() == 'yes' depreciation = calculate_depreciation(type_of_ipad, duration, new_model) estimated_resale_value = ipad_cost - depreciation total_loss = ipad_cost - estimated_resale_value else: total_loss = 0 # If not selling, no loss return f"Your estimated total loss after owning a {type_of_ipad} iPad for {duration} years is ${total_loss}." print(decide_purchase())

    also if you are buying from Apple Store online make sure you select to buy education priced, because they literally didnt even ask for my student ID or my student email address. it felt like they really honestly didnt care if I was a student or not. I kind of wish I knew this years ago and would have been buying everything through their student portal. the other thing I wish I knew, is that refurbished apple products are packaged so well that they honestly feel like a brand new apple product and basically are. they have new chasi, new battery, and have been fully tested, and come with 1 year warranty, so if anyone is wanting the best of both worlds (the serotonin and dopamine and adrenaline rush of unbox therapy when opening a new apple product) without the heavy price tag, and knowing its had no previous users, and not having to worry if its authentic or not, then I urge you to check both the education pricing AND the certified refurbished pricing (on last years models) before you lock in your new choice for brand new current model. I got last years MacBook Pro M1 for 1 thousand dollars less than the M2 cost and could not be happier. the unboxing made me so happy I cried tears of joy and ive never felt like the computer is slow (all apple silicon are OP) and I dont have to stare at the ceiling at night wondering if someone masturbated using this laptop or whether its a REALLY well build knock off model hahahaha (not that they exist, but the human mind is fickle and the fear of becoming a victim to a scam is real, or rather, its a real fear but less REAL in the real world). its a pretty complex decision, I hope all this helps anyone who was indecisive as I was. thanks for the video Aivars! as always, love your content!! looking forward to annoying you more soon with my pesky questions and long comments hehe

    Even if I wanted, iPhone 12 still gets the job done. Sure - the battery is slowly degrading but I can live with that so... skipping iPhone update this year as well :) And that goes for the watch also - nothing extraordinary and yet again - 1 day battery life isn't that far away from what I have in my old watch to justify the purchase
