I usually love Android phones, but I can't give up my iPhone because the notification systems are terrible. For example, when I click on notifications from Instagram or any third-party app, it doesn't take me to the relevant image or topic, and sometimes it doesn't open the link at all. Also, in Instagram DMs, when I click on one notification, all the others disappear as if they've been seen, even if I haven't viewed them. The Android notification panel is messy and unhelpful, not guiding me properly and failing to take me to the relevant content when I click on a link or image. Sometimes, it just opens the app and stays there, instead of taking me to the specific notification. The same issue applies to Gmail notifications, which are often delayed. These are based on my experiences, and they need to be fixed.

I dunno if it's different with the iPad, but I've wanted to throw my iPad across the room when it does something unexpected (some window gets maximized and even swiping from the left or right doesn't get rid of it). The one saving grace is the physical home button to get me out of that. But the iPhone doesn't have that, so I've been hesitant to drop that amount of money on a device whose OS I've struggled with. Also this whole "way simpler" is ridiculous. I've never had difficulty using Android. I don't know who these people are that struggle to use it.

You don't have full control of your apples storage. When the phone runs out of space, you cannot individually target application folder to be deleted or the equivalent of 'gallery' i.e. 'photos' wont sync with your local storage and have to manually add them to the 'photos' app which also takes up double space for keeping it in both sectors. Iphone usually provides low storage even for a high price, while android flagship usually starts with 256gb, at the same time higher storage dont cost far beyond from the base variant and sometimes with additional slot for sd card which can be directly refered by the camera app to use it as recording storage. Iphone have lower battery life while recording videos while android flagship seems to last longer, without the stress of using up the storage. And as for the camera quality, flagship android more or less has the same capability as Iphone image sensors are also provided by Sony, who also provides it to Android manufacturers.

I’m 100% sure Apple has access to iPhone users’ data the same way that Google does with Android users’ data (or whatever the operating system they’re using). Was a lifelong iphone user. Currently use the fold 5. I am shocked at how far samsung has progress in terms of display quality (It actually looks like reading text on a paper), encryption and security (secure folder), innovation (the folding concept is really a work of engineering art), ergonomics (it feels natural to hold a book-like device),creating a reliable phone and a consistent UI- whereas it seems to me the iphone has remained mostly stagnant since the iphone 12. Even in terms of pricing, the fold 5 being the most expensive android is not far from the price of an iphone 15 pro max. I have come to a conclusion that apple is just basically really really good at marketing and creating a loyal fanbase.

Remember iOS is not like Android so even if the iPhone 16 turns out to be a beasts, the experience on that 16 will be the same as any other iPhone thus I recommend you check out IOS and IOS features before deciding on a 15 pro max or waiting on the 16. Also I recommend you put down on a list what you need from that phone, for example I would like to upgrade to either the 14 or the 15 because of the satellite feature which could come in handy where I live, if it wasn’t for that I would have gladly stayed with my 12 mini.

On Android, a swipe from the edge can be set to "back" for any app - or gou can even set up the old three-button Switcher/Home/Back layout. Conversely, in iOS, the back button in Safari is down at the bottom left, while in many apps is still top left. That is, if there isn't an "X" in the top right for some pop-up screens.

I knoticed that, it is like most we got to guess which one is better, or which one is better for us individually, and I get that, I have only used android so far, but I would really like to know which one is really better, like legitimately, so I could stick with the OS that is actually better. I just got an S24 Ultra today after using iphone religiously since the iphone 5 and being locked to the apple ecosystem. And let me tell you, where the F was I??!?🤣 This phone is amazing, the one UI OS is as smooth as IOS but with many many more features. I do love apple for its simplicity and ecosystem, but Samsung knocked it out of the park with the S24 ultra. My experience will be different from others, but so far, I do not regret my purchase. I did keep my iphone just in case to help control or manage subscriptions. But my main phone will for sure be the s24 ultra, not having imessage was my biggest downside, but with the Beeper app, I have imessage and all the goodies from android! Samsung really caught up and in my opinion, maybe even surpassed apple.

And when you have a mfg eco like Samsung phone, tablet, buds watch etc you will find the stuff work just as well as the apple ecosystem.

I got an idea for the google pixel 9 line up, on top of the standard and pro, there couldnbe a pixel 9 max, which has an 8 gen 3, 2500nits 144hz 1440p screen ltpo 3.0, 5500mah battery, a 3x and 5x telephoto lets with 45mp resolution, a 108 mp main and an ultra wide, fast 60 w charging. That would be the best flagship by a mile, it could cost around 1400-1600 dollars.

Well done excellent job I'm stuck with a 20 right now an a20 Samsung right now. And when I say stuck I don't mean so bad phone. When I got it it was the best phone I've ever had. Although I've never had an iPhone. But I have paid attention as many people that you know have an iPhone. What I liked about the Samsung it was the first Android I ever had that was brand new at the time as opposed to buying a used phone and then going through straight talk. Which actually isn't that bad if the phone was designed for Verizon because you're going to get Verizon towers. But I get this that the hardware for iPhones generally tends to be better. I'm way older than all you guys and I remember my first computer lab in college and it was all those monochrome Apple computers. I hesitate to use the word PC because they weren't. But they were fantastic for things like word processing and doing your papers in even the first few years I taught just printing out my lesson plans and printing out anything I wanted to laminate so it would look good on the old school overhead. But when Steve Jobs left them by 98 I was a Windows guy. And had no idea that we would have computers in our pockets. And that's another story but I think that like the author here says if you're willing to put the time in Android can be a really good device although I would certainly stay away from something coming out of China or some other country. Also Android is a little LAX with who they let into the play store. Funny I didn't know that in Europe the same problem exists for both systems.. and there's always been ways to side load apps. It's just seems like apple is suddenly made it easier. Although I never could afford war was willing to pay the price for an iPhone I always pretty much assumed they were the safest phones. Now I'm not so sure although I suspect they are highest performing if everything else comes from apple. I think that's where Android if you're smart, if you find the right android, that plays well with other apps and other Hardware you come out on Winning Side but it's a crapshoot.

In a perfect world the developers in Android would never have sold out to Google. At the time is its conception the Nexus was the best damn phone. No bloatware. Lots of freedom and early consistent updates but we don't live in that world anymore. If somebody gave me a pixel as long as it's not based on AT&T I would take it in a heartbeat. But it's not a Nexus. And we know any third party like Linksys or whatever is not going to be viable in the next decade. Again I think the author did a really good job on playing it straight down the line. If I was wealthy and loaded I would get all Apple products except maybe for my PC or my laptop. But I don't live in that world and I'm not going to pay for something that's going to be outdated much sooner than the other guys. But the point on collection of data definitely is a negative for Google I don't care how much they claims have improved and how many BS notifications I get when I log on at another site. I don't know if Apple users go through that or not? But it seems like a bunch of horse manure. And I made the decision out of saving time to allow Google / Chrome to collect my passwords. 10 years ago I had basically a Rolodex of passwords. I will say this in regards to passwords for anybody when you come up with words that are disconnected from each other, unless you required by the site, make your own password up use words that have no connection to each other. I would give an example but it might put me or you at risk. I actually from the research I've read believe that what we used to think we're really strong passwords actually aren't. And then there's the big lie, whichever company you're with, you're at risk to be hacked. So it might be a good idea to actually talk to people on the phone or to meet with them face-to-face as old school as that may seem. Sadly in the last 10 years you also need to be aware of Visual and audio recordings weather at Starbucks or Sheetz or some other crabby place but this was surprisingly a well-done and seemingly non-partisan review thank you exclamation point cheers exclamation point

I think the single biggest advantage to androids is price. There are some really, really good android phones for well under $100 and multiple good phones which are 5G capable for $80-$100 on average. Meanwhile, setting aside the used market, if you want any of the easily available models, currently seems to be iPhone 13 and newer, you'll be dropping at least 3 times as much. Sorry, not factoring in the SE model as I'm not recognizing any model with a screen smaller than a 5 inch screen, and also, it still averages approx $250. Now then, at this point I'm sure some will chime in that the iPhone lineup is worth the extra price. Fast-forward past those reasons, because it is worth it ultimately, still many can't afford a iPhone without getting a way old model, in which case you might as well stick with a newer model android. What do I prefer? I have both, but my iPhone I got the then current model and paid it off and only keep for exclusive apps, it's not my daily phone and only was my primary phone for a few months. However I can use some of it's exclusive apps and so it serves a purpose still. Get what you want, of course, but you'll get a better value from android. Even needing to update a good few times, I'll put up with it instead of paying 3 times as much for a fairly current iPhone and keep my only iPhone for it's exclusive apps that I admittedly can use.
