    Can you make a video about how to start a project, for example: project skeleton, file structure, system and database design... I always worry about my project not good enough. Wishing you a positive day

    Sounds like a super busy couple of months ahead! I’d love to try the 12 apps in 12 months sometime, but I totally agree you could get burnt out constantly starting new things. I think for me too like one app every two months is more realistic

  • @AivarsMeijers

    @AivarsMeijers

    2 ай бұрын

    I did that to myself. It will be busy June :D App per month sounds too much, more realistic could be 3-4 months cycle: - Build new app or big feature - Release, fixes, ASO - Marketing - 4th months for healing from burnout and getting new ideas :)

    I'd say moving to Riga is a downshifting today. Even small cities in Latvia look much more attractive. And it is easy to get a coffee machine.

  • @AivarsMeijers

    @AivarsMeijers

    2 ай бұрын

    I know. I moved from Riga to a smaller city 10+ years ago when it wasn't a mainstream thing yet. I'm a trend starter, not a follower 😂 Small cities are comfortable for going out on a weekend to visit local burger joints or beer bravery. If it is the only place where to go out all year long and it is closed in the off-season, that's not so fun anymore. Will see what I think in a year or a few, but I spent most of my life in Riga and missed it.

    Aiwars do you think it is very difficult to find projects on upwork for a beginner? and as a full time income upwrok should not be considered? in a video from 5 years ago about freelancing you said that upwork is the last thing you should rely on when looking for freelance work, is that true? I'm currently learning ios development, I'm only interested in freelance format of work in the future, I'm worried whether I'll be able to have stable projects or at least partially stable.

    Start making connections with other iOS devs and freelancers! Hot leads (from people you know or refer you), are always better than Upwork, or any other freelance platform! I do iOS dev as a freelancer, I’d love to chat with what you’re learning and your goals!

    I started on Upwork and that worked out well for me, but most of the projects are not great there. @MikaelaCaron has great advice, I would try to be around other freelancers. I got one good project from another iOS dev I met at a local meetup.

    Is it worth it to learn ios development in 2024? What would you recommend to start with: uikit or swiftui? What about hybrid development/KMP? Won't they make ios native development obsolete?
