Bravo hex! I know you and I have discussed using the Persuasive Interrogators For some time now. Used my version of this deck for a while with only about 50% success. I will be playing this deck tonight and I hope to report 100 per cent fun and success!

It's still very janky though but a zero mana Carnage means you can hopefully "combo" kill in one turn if you can surprise your opponent, have a bit of luck and play around their interaction they may have. I love this deck though!

homicide investigator gives you a clue token everytime your creatures die. so you can pitiless carnage for a few poison counters, get more clue token by sacrificing your creatures and then just investigate next turn

I knew there'd be a way to break interrogators. I just couldn't find it 😂

The only other option I think was Malevolent Witchkite but again another 6 mana. Carnage is FREE!

Bartolomé is another option. I always feel like there should be a combo deck with mkm Kaya copying investigator or Bartolomé from the grave but I just can't get a fast enough consistently working clue engine in those colours

I think the Carnage is very strong in another deck I think I'm gonna play next week.

Good job finding the interaction with Pitiless Carnage and Persuasive Interrogators! There's definitely potential to put these into a somewhat competitive shell. However, I feel that BG is probably the worst for this combo. There are better clue generators in other colors. Grixis gives you Gleaming Geardrake, Malcolm the Eyes, Lazav Wearer of Faces, all reasonable 2-mana creatures. There's also Case of the Filched Falcon and Detective's Satchel. And maybe there's something for Esoteric Duplicator to do. That said, esper is probably the best shell. You get Alquist Proft and Ezrim, which both share the detective creature type with Persuasive Interrogators, so now you can play Cavern of Souls to get them through counter magic. Ezrim is also a decent backup for comboing off since it can sack clues at instant speed for 1-mana each, and just a decent alt win-con since it can protect itself. But in any build around Persuasive Interrogators, I think the _real_ tech is Roaming Throne. With Roaming Throne on detective, all of those other detectives will make double the clues. Persuasive Interrogators now only needs to sack 3 clues to deal lethal poison because that sack clue poison trigger will also get doubled, and it will make 2 of the 3 clues all by itself.

I tried UB with this idea and getting clues was easier but I felt there were too many cards like Filched Falcon that didn't really do anything after they were played. Maybe sultai could work as the small discount from the Rutstein really was invaluable. The biggest stocking point is definitely the 6 mana of the interrogators. I'll use some of your ideas in a future iteration though as I always like to put up janky combo alt win style decks a couple of times a week. My main goal today was to highlight the interaction between the two combo pieces, and honestly I didn't think I'd even win one game, but won 4 on the bounce blew my brain lol

@@HexMTG Did you try out insatiable avarice in this deck? It felt like you were really at the mercy of rng for when your win con showed up; 2 copies of avarice and i wonder if it'd smooth that out a bit (also the synergy with Shelly would make them potential life gain, haha)

@ninjablade2 It's a good call as it does more than just one thing, and that's what I like in cards in my decks. As you mention it finds the combo piece but also could both gain you life or do 9 damage with Shelly out. It's definitely something that could be included 😎

Wow!!! The deck is spicy!!! Anyway I was bummed when you said janky with a sheoldred in your deck 😂😂😂. Anyways looking forward for this deck reworks and adjustment like budget option or friendly pocket deck.

Lol I don't think Shelly is as annoying as it has been, and I forgive myself when I'm using her purely as a way to stay alive against red decks with our clues 🤣 Anyway I already have a new plan with this deck based on some other comments from this video!

Keep up the good work, we need some brews like this one, looking forward for a rework on this one (im working also because it is so LOWKEY) , in your future contents brew some budget grixis criminals fucosing on commiting crime. Hehehehe. Thanks for responding kudos!!!

Two rough ideas: Hostile Investigator has 4 power and generates a clue in addition to being a sweet card overall. Maybe swap out 1 sheoldred? Also, maybe add a 1 of 1 mana protection spell like Tamyos Safekeeping or Not Dead After All. You can just put 1 and then easilu tutor it up with Pillage the Bog. You can then add this in your combo if youre worried about the opponent holding up removal. Thoughts?

Yeah this sounds very reasonable. Personally, I don't like including that don't have more than one use in a deck, and I felt Safekeeping was very much a what if card. A card you could play though are the Bats. They allow you to see whats going on to play around, nab removal if needed and are in themselves removal targets.

With too many suggestions below, we'd love to see another version :)

12:20 Bartolomé also provides an option to sac as many clues as you want for free - though that puts you into white/black and I for the life of me can't make the clue generation work in those colours. Homicide investigator not triggering of tokens is such a shame as otherwise it could be a fun little mkm Kaya token/ sacrifice deck

Plotting cards makes janky combos so much easier to pull off now I reckon

Hex, Molten Duplication copied with a galvanic iteration can be brutal when targeting a Terror of the Peaks.

I used Interrogators with Chalk Outline to get tons of Clue tokens. Then I was able to just sack the clues quickly. You can also do something like Forensic Gadgeteer and lots of artifact spells

@@HexMTG I was able to use Transplant Theorist with Roots and a Clay Revenant to continually make more. Theorist draws and discards (Clay) when a Clue appears (Chalk Outline). You bring it back to your hand to trigger roots and chalk again. Repeat

Need a couple Tamiyo spell for protection. Its like bloodletter + rush combo, you need to protect the creature from removal.

If you want you definitely can! I personally don't like those kind of cards as they can just be redundant in your hand and extra mana needs to be open however that's just my personal choice. If the card is removed my hope was to get it back with Rutstein.

Pillage is a great card! I use it in a Rakdos ramp deck

I tried out this deck, and while it definitely was fun, it's just too slow against the likes of boros convoke and mono-black skeletons (I am also on Plat)

It is a bit slow and mainly just some janky fun like you mention. I always try to put up some jank every Friday to be a little creative. Although convoke, MB, MR etc are the best Bo1 decks, I find them boring to play unless you are specifically trying to rank up

@@HexMTG I wholeheartedly agree that they are boring, but I just can't avoid facing them :/ fun story: I switched to Sultai Toxic (no jank sadly) and got matched with MW, MR and Boros Convoke like 6 times in a row. I switched to Azorius Control and... got a mirror xD

@ViaDiva when I first started playing arena you could go unranked to unleash jank after jank against fellow jank brewers but somewhere along the line that changed too! It's just an occupational hazard having to face those meta decks lol
