I’ve looked at a shit load of utube videos trying to find if there is a snap rig holding that inner cv joint on the splined end that goes into the rear end. Found none, nota, zero , zip!! Thanks for the view that showed me no snap ring. Now I can put a puller on not worrying I was pulling against a snap ring.

The tool for band-it clamps are like 12 bucks and get you much better tension on the band. Just buy the tool

I made a tool that worked but I needed 4hands to do it! Should have bought the tool, now I’ll buy the tool for that factory band.

Not as easy as it looks. Not too hard but can get messy but if u got time its worth a try. Make sure u get the tool for the band makes it way easier and u make sure it get tight the first time.

Dont follow any of this. Dude didnt pack the bearing at all and that clamp isnt doing anything, not even remotely tight enough.

You actually don't need to pack it. Once the joint starts rolling, it flows into the bearing. I'd advise turning it by hand a bit, like he did, but for a little longer. If you have a torch, warm (not hot) the metal part first. The grease typically is heated by the brakes and motion of the joints.

Easy to put it on - taking the old one off is MISSION IMPOSSIBLE - why this should be so difficult with more than 40 years of engineering development is a MYSTERY.

@@deven6518 All the hammering ended up damaging the inner cv too. Answer seems to use the 2 hammer method.

@@godfreyberry1599 no, like you clamp the shaft and knock it out. Use something to spread the force, like a plate or wood block. You can just cut a slot in the wooden block so it goes around the shaft and sits on the outer joint, then hammer away. You can use a slide hammer tbh, but you have to clamp the shaft. The inner cv can literally slide out with hand power, so no banging where that's taking the restraining force, because the boot will tear

Yes, but these things cost almost as much as an aftermarket axle.

1).Pull the shaft near to inner CV front and Back Not In and Out. You can abserved abnormal play. 2).When the vehicle speeding you can feel smal vibration near the 2nd and 3rd gears.
