Honestly, start to finish Nostradamus was commendable. His team crumpled to several great plays by the Blue team, but he almost single handedly kept players in the game, giving out constructors and eco, building units when the front line was collapsing and air support when it wasn't. I think it's pretty clear that Nostradamus is a high caliber player through and through. The decision making this game was honestly immaculate, even if it was cheeky by the end.

I found the opposite (both in this game, and in every lobby I've seen him in)... no tech for his air or sea player delaying them massively. Anti only for himself... and instead of making units to actually help his team, he just threw them a bone occasionally so he could try his meme. No hate on the guy, just feel like the compliments are misplaced... It's actually extremely selfish play.

I think the scaling and minor help is way better than slowing the exponential burn too early. Frontlines held well enough, then Nos in the backline juiced everyone up and they won pretty handily. He did sell quite a few turbines to pink at 15:00 too to straighten out their after-attack eco.

Honestly, from the few videos of him I've seen of him, I quite like Nostradamus's play. Not because of the shenanigans - I feel many games could've been won much faster by more conventional tactics - but because when he is preparing for his shenanigans he actually builds up his team by donating power generation, build power etc. Comparing to some other players I've seen highlighted in other channels, I like his style much more.
@Ankh.of.Gaming9 ай бұрын
Impressive play, further underlined if you understand the actual planning that must've gone into this. I'm sure Nostradamus calculated exactly how much metal and energy he needed in bank, how much build power needed to put up a Calamity in 20 seconds and to sustain it to close the deal. He also likely had backup options in case he couldn't pull it off, like transitioning into a T3 spam or becoming the eco of his entire team.

About tumbleweeds, yes they are powerful if the enemy doesn't know how to counter them. 5 or even less torpedo launchers can stop tumbleweeds. About 2 to 3 t2 torps can also do it if you have vision or 3 pin pointers. I was producing tumbleweeds late game like crazy and I couldn't pass my opponent's torps haha. That's how you learn I suppose.
@TheLightLOD
9 ай бұрын
Tumbleweeds can be easy, but also very difficult to counter.. It mostly depends o how they're controlled because of how targetting works in BAR. Everytime a unit fires they aim at the location they expect their target to be at the time of projectile impact. You can see this whenever a unit fires at a moving enemy, the projectile doesn't move towards the enemy unit but in front of it with the intent of the enemy moving to the same position as it. But if you give your unit a new move order after the enemy fired, but before your unit gets hit they can dodge the attack as most projectiles do not chase their target. Thus a factory producing tumbleweeds will issues trying to destroy a torpedo launcher by simply setting its waypoint on the torpedo launcher, unless it's producing enough without causing chain reactions. After all, the path the tumbleweeds take will be pretty much predictably straight at towards the torpedo launcher. However, if we take a few tumbleweeds and micromanage them through a tightish zigzag pattern towards the torpedo launcher it might get confused and aim where our tumbleweed will never go, thus allowing the tumbleweed to close the distance by means of not getting hit. Or rather the torpedo launcher might aim where it thinks we're going, whilst we change our minds halfway. The big challenge with this is that players that don't micro the tumbleweeds may consider it a bad unit, whereas their opponents consider it easy to counter. Consequently they might get completely destroyed by micromanaged tumbleweeds from experienced players that magically dodge most of their torpedoes. You can sometimes see experienced players "wiggle" their commander back and forth in the hopes of enemy weapons failing to predict their location so they can live a few seconds longer on those last 2% of their hitpoints. Most of the time the tumbleweed is claimed at great against ships, not land targets... This is because navy and naval defenses use slow firing and moving torpedoes and depth charges, there is no great counter to it when your enemy micromanages them (commander laser doesn't do enough damage). Whereas on land we have rapid fire instant hit lasers, for razorbacks and splash damage weapons it's just another small spammed unit tat they can easily take down.

Yeah, they can get all that metal, or they could res those commanders. Red team wouldn't be out anything, they get spares that Blue now need to kill off too if they want to win, they can also distribute those to other players for more build options or just for a big early increase in build power. I really enjoy watching your videos, and have one request regarding your commentary. Instead of saying "we" to refer to the actions of a player you're focusing on, could you call out the players that you're referring to by name when you're talking about their economy or the tactical movements they're making or not making? It's somewhat confusing to hear you refer to things like "we've got X happening" when you're switching between all the different players in the game, and so the "we" changes from moment to moment.
